This VIZIO sound bar was very easy to install right out of the box. All major cables (HDMI & Optical) are included. It comes with very detailed instructions if you need help setting up. The input controls use voice prompts to indicate what input your currently on which my husband thinks is pretty great! Being Bluetooth enabled you can connect to a Bluetooth device which makes listening to music even better. We have been using ours to connect to our projector when we have outdoor movie nights. The size of the sound bar and subwoofer make them very easy to take along or move when needed. Although the sound bar is small it has great sound quality! I'm highly impressed! It really makes watching movies even more enjoyable.

Great Sound!

Pictured is a 42in LG tv and the soundbar is almost exactly the same length. We put it in my daughter’s room and the subwoofer fits right in to one of the little cubes. The volume/power buttons are on top of the bar which I like, if I can’t immediately find the remote, because usually they’re on the side. Setup was easy and quick. It also came with hardware to mount it on the wall if you wanted to. Good sound for a small bedroom but maybe not for a family room. The options for treble and base are limited to only a few options vs true customization (at least when connected to any brand other than Vizio). Still, I 100% recommend!

Sound is great!

I received this Visio V21x-J8 sound bar to try and write a review. When I received the unit it was very well packaged. It was easy to unpack and with the clear instructions, I was able to install the components and get it set up. It came with wall mounting brackets for the bar itself, but I haven’t used them as of yet. I have it sitting on my component cabinet and it fits very well for me. I may or may not hang it at a later date. I will hide the wires later as well. It comes with a nice template for the mounts as well which is very nice. It also comes with the remote control and even has the batteries. The remote is very nice and easy. It just takes a little practice to learn the features and get them down pat. The sound is extremely nice. Of course it’s not like a multi-hundred dollar system would sound but for the price range, it is very nice and smooth. The base from the woofer is really something. Watched a movie last evening with a lot of explosions and etc. and it was great. Never knew what I had been missing. It has base, treble, equalizer, volume and etc. controls. I highly recommend this unit to anyone that’s looking for added sound to their smart TV. I hope this review helps someone in deciding or making a purchase decision.

Really Nice

Our main family TV is an 82" 4K, and I've wanted a sound bar system for so long because when watching movies, I have to really crank the volume high (in the 50s+) with the TVs "built-in" volume in order to hear the characters speaking, but then have to turn down the volume when the movie music/score is playing because it's too loud. With the sound bar, the volume seems to adjust itself as far as being clear and louder when movie characters are speaking, and lower when the thematic music is playing (same goes for commercials). Not being a very tech savvy person, that's the best I can do as far as describing what the sound bar and small accompanying woofer does. It makes a huge difference as far as the TV's overall sound quality and viewing experience, especially when watching movies. (Please excuse the cords and mess in the images. I was in a hurry to set up the system and try it.)

Excellent Sound!

The V21x-J8 Soundbar is an excellent sounding soundbar. It replaces a much older soundbar that does not sound nearly as good. It has excellent sound range and provides a really clear voice so now I’m able to actually hear the dialog instead of just reading the closed captions. Setup was very and straight forward. I love the option that allows it to keep the sound at an even level so the commercials don’t blow you out of the room!

For anyone looking for a great sounding soundbar, I definitely recommend you check this one out.

Excellent sounding soundbar!

This premium sound bar and subwoofer by Vizio are definitely worth the money! The 2.1 sound bar features 3 speakers for an incredibly loud and crisp sound quality. It also includes a wireless subwoofer that adds booming bass to your music or movie experiences. I especially love this product because it has DTS virtualized 3D sound that adds a room filling 3 dimensional sound that is breathtaking! The set up is also extremely easy, and it includes mounts for hanging as well. I highly recommend this sound bar and subwoofer for every room in your house to optimize your music and movie experiences.

Amazing Quality Sound Bar and Subwoofer!

The set up and installation for the sound bar took about 25 minutes. It would of been sooner if my youngest didnt run into me causing a plastic anchor to go through the wall. Since this setup didnt come with hardware for the wall mounts, I purchased a pack of plastic anchors with screws included, it made it to where I didnt have to match up screw sizes. The paper included with the sound bar for wall placement, made this process so easy! I saved it for later install incase I move it to another room. The sub woofer synced effortlessly to the sound bar with no issues. I used the HDMI for installation and found to get sound from using my firestick, I needed to use the optical cord as well. No biggie. The sound coming out of this set is AMAZING! Both through my tv AND Bluetooth from my phone! There is no static,or interruptions. I have a 2000 sq ft home and on high can hear it through the entire house! That my friends is good quality. No more ear buds while cleaning! I am more than happy with this sound bar. HIGHLY recommend it to anyone wanting a sound bar.

Very pleased

This Vizio V21x-J8 Sound Bar and Sub Woofer are pretty awesome! The sound quality is great! It's clean and crisp and rich and very clear. It is weighty and made very well. It's quite durable and sturdy and the black bar blends in beautifully with
my black console and Vizio TV. It comes with everything you need including a remote with all the buttons you need. There are also buttons on top of the sound bar. If you want to, you can use your TV remote. The front of the sound bar has a strip of lights that respond to the different commands. The back is clearly marked as to where each plug or cable should go. The Vizio 21x J8 is an excellent value. Set up was very easy but for some reason I had to use the optical audio cable instead of the HDMI ARC. There are several other ways you can connect such as Bluetooth and auxiliary. It shipped just in it's own box but there is plenty of protective styrofoam, the hard kind, inside surrounding everything and the cords, cables and hardware come in a small box also inside. 
There is a 'quick' set up guide and a booklet included. In the booklet, it gives more detail on how to set the settings in the TV for the sound bar. Even though I have a Vizio TV, and it was recognizing the sound bar and all the settings were correct, the sound would not come out. So, if you run into this, *I called Vizio for help* try the tiny optical audio cable. It worked instantly and the sound is beautiful. Customer Service was very nice to deal with and very quick to resolve the issue. This set 
is really nice looking; very attractive but at the same time blends into it's background. I'm not sure where I am going to permanently place them yet. I'm going to try out a few different spots. They do come with hanger brackets and Vizio makes a couple of suggestions for placement. I love this set and always wanted a sound bar and sub woofer. I am so happy! The quality of the Vizio 21x J8 both in sound and workmanship is excellent! Highly Recommend!
