Not sure if it is double walled, but it definitely kept coffee hot

Yes. No glass to break. It retains the heat pretty well, good for hours. I was able to buy an extra carafe online. (Walmart.com did not carry the carafe alone).

I don't know, but the coffee stays steaming hot all day long without the need for a energy wasting warmer.

Not sure it's double walled but it maintians a drinkable heat long past it's stated 2 hour limit.

Since the coffee is still hot for over an hour after brewing, I would say yes, it is double walled.

Doesn't matter, has cheap metal heating unit and metal sloughs off into the coffee you drink.

Does this have a double walled stainless steel carafe

You do not have to switch lids. The design is great in that air never touches the coffee from the maker to the carafe. The carafe is double walled and uses a push button to pour which keeps coffee hot.

It's all automatic. There is a little valve in the lid that opens to receive the brew drip. When you remove the carafe, you push a thumb button to pour.

This carafe will drip coffee after you pour a cup, if you do not let the pour button go before you orient the carafe to the up right position.

There is a button on top of the lid, right by the handle, that you press down to allow the coffee to pour. I move the lid a bit with my thumb, then press down, to make the coffee come out faster (just be sure you don't push it too far or the lid will come completely off)

Do you have to switch lids on the carafe to pour coffee? How do you switch from accepting the dripping coffee to pouring?

Gold filters are pretty standard and I used the one from our previous coffee maker. Yes, it fits.

Yep! That's what I use. Not the cone shape one, the regular one.

It uses basic sized coffee filters, so if a gold filter is basic sized, then yes, it will work.

My gold fiilter from my old Mr. Coffee fits.

A gold filter will fit; I had one from a previous coffee maker and tried it. It works fine but seems to let the water thru slower than a paper filter and some of the grinds escape the filter over the side. Needs more cleaning than just throwing out a paper filter.
