Add wireless performance to your ARQ Aero Rhythm AR-48 controller or LiveTrak L-20 console with the Zoom BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter from Sweetwater. The effective wireless range for each device is around 33 feet unobstructed. Paired with the AR-48, the BTA-1 unlocks wireless control of MIDI devices (keyboards, samplers, drum machines, etc.) connected to your computer workstation. This is a MUST-HAVE accessory for the F3!

I bought a Zoom F3 and didn't give much thought to the BTA-1. I mean, who needs another remote control device, eh? Well, ahem ... I take that back. This thing basically turns your phone into a studio-quality 2-channel recording device! The F3 is awesome, but it's ... well ... pretty small. Like, about the size of a Rubik's Cube with the bottom row missing. It has buttons on four sides, and it's hard to read the screen and push those buttons. So I downloaded the app for my phone (Android) and it presents a large, easy-to-read and manipulate screen. So I ordered the BTA-1 to see how well it works. Frankly, I'm blown away! Mostly because it's a 2-way interface in that I can see the waveform moving around on the phone screen as I'm recording on the device. The only thing that would make it better would be if it would feed the headphone signal to the phone over the BT so you can listen remotely as well.

You Need This

If you're wondering if you should get the Bluetooth adapter for your Zoom recorder, the answer is "Yes". I love my F6, but the menus and small buttons can be a bit challenging. The iPhone app works great and makes it very easy to adjust things, turn on/off phantom power, etc.

Exceptional - works perfectly

This is perfect 100.0%. No news is GREAT news! I had order a substitute brand because this was out of stock, and couldn't get it to work, but the Zoom BTA-1 is perfect as perfect can be. I love it.

If you have an iPhone/iPad and a compatible Zoom - buy it, your welcome!

Zoom BTA1 is necessary to connect the phone tool. I use mine with the zoom F6 and F3. While it really makes operating and configuring the recorders super convenient, i feel this feature should be built-in, like it is with the F2-BT recorder, not a plug-in accessory. Once you install it you need to go into settings on the zoom recorder and turn on Bluetooth. After pairing with your iOS device, it will auto connect on power up and launch of the app. It has short range of only 10 meters (30 feet) line-of-sight and if you don't want dropped connection you need to stay within 5 meters or 15 feet. So far it works as expected on the F6 and F3 but be aware Zoom has yet to offer a phone tool for Android users, (as of this review 4/22).
