Great Gloves!

I bought these gloves about a year ago. I use them 3 to 4 times a week rehearsal and playing.
I've also moved equipment around a few times.
These gloves have received a true hard workout.

They are great still perfect.

I highly recommend these gloves

Trains your grip

I was kind of skeptical of these gloves, but they turned out to be really great. The rubber dots that grip the stick are mostly around the thumb and index finger where you're supposed to do most of your gripping. The rest are leather. It's hard to explain, but when you wear them they basically train your hand to grip correctly or the stick begins to slip and you realize you're not gripping properly and you just change posture. It's changed how I grip my sticks for the better after only using them for about 3 to 4 hours worth of playing at this point.
Music background: Hardcore, punk and Oi.

Love mine!

My situation is that since my heart surgery right at 5 years ago my skin/hands are very dry and slick as a result. Bare sticks slip. I tried stick tape, but that kept slipping on the sticks themselves. I tried grippy batter's gloves, but they were too bulky on the palm of my hands. Next, I looked at receiver's gloves, but they were TOO tacky. Then I tried a pair of Zildian gloves which had a nice fit, but the leather was too slick. So, after reviewing the options on-line I opted these Vic Firth gloves. I had to order them since my local store carried only the Zildjian.

I got these in one night and tried them out at my biker church band practice (a lot of rock-based Christian music) that same night. The fit was excellent, the palm and back ventilation kept my hands cool, and the grip was just what I was looking for.

Unlike some reviews I've seen thru different on-line retailers I saw no wear after about three hours of practice, but I don't try to squeeze the blood out of my sticks. My fulcrum is between my thumb and index finger, so these were awesome.

After about a year's use I finally had enough of the dots come off to cause minor slipping, so I got another pair. Old ones stay on my kit at home and the new ones go to church! I'm very happy to have finally found a solution to my problem.

Love'em!

My situation is that since my heart surgery 4-1/2 years ago my skin/hands are very dry and slick, as a result bare sticks slip. So, after reviewing the options on-line, I opted for these Vic Firth gloves. I had to order them since my local store carried only the Zildians. I got these in back in February and tried them out at my biker church band practice the same night. The fit was excellent, the palm and back ventilation kept my hands cool, and the grip was just what I was looking for. Unlike some reviews I've seen on-line I saw no wear after about three hours of practice, but I don't try to squeeze the blood out of my sticks. My fulcrum is between my thumb and index finger, so these were awesome. After about 9 months of continued use I've lost very few grippy dots. I'm very happy to have finally found a solution to my problem. Hope this helps some of you.

what took me so long

I wish I had discovered these a long time ago. What a difference, especially when playing a quick tempo at a high volume. I am able to hold the sticks much more loosely, especially my right hand on the ride cymbal without constantly having to adjust my grip. Highly recommended.
