Stylish and functional garage appliance
I purchased the freezer to place in my garage then once that was delivered I decided the matching refrigerator was a must have. So far I'm very happy with the appliance. One issue I experienced with both this refrigerator and the freezer was the bolt in the foot pedal that you adjust to have it pop open the door when using the foot pedal. I needed to be remove it as it was to long and the door would not close with it. That was a MFG error, although not enough for a bad review.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about
I have had the Gladiator refrigerator for 12 years now. It still work fine, except for the defrost condensate line. It seems to freeze up and will spill over and drain into the freezer.
If I manually defrost the whole refrigerator it will work fine for 6 months. I just cope with it and place a baking pan below the port to catch the water that than freezes into an ice loaf. I only need to empty it every 6 months. We access the freezer and the drink refrigerator several times daily in the garage. I like how it matches all of the garage gladiator cabinets benches and plugstrip

There is so much room!
We bought both the full refrigerator and the full freezer for additional frig/freezer space in the garage. Love the design and they seem built to last! I expected them to be a little bit noisy, but I can barely hear them and I'm sitting right next to the open door going into the garage. They were just delivered and installed today, but so far, we are very happy with them!

Hands down the best purchase!
I can't speak highly enough about this product! We have struggled for years to find the perfect garage ready refrigerator for our Illinois home. I am so impressed with this BEAST! During the polar vortex, where we hit -50F, the refrigerator kept temp and didn't freeze a thing! It only dropped 1 degree. We can't wait to see how it does this summer! So far, extremely pleased with the purchase!

I bought this refrigerator and love how roomy it is and keeps all my booze, and fresh meats, and vegetable great. I highly refer this to everyone, especially if you need more room for refrigerator foods, etc. I have showed several people and they could not believe how much this holds and the quality is superb. I bought this Yesterday. Just a solid item!
I bought this yesterday to replace my 3 yr old freezer that stopped working. First being a fix-it upper myself, I will say that I was thoroughly impressed with the bottom and back of the product which are not cheaply made to say the least and are sealed to keep the critters out and insulated for harsh Winters. Just a Solid product inside and out ands would recommend to anyone.

The amount it holds is beyond crazy, makes storage for parties a ton easier. The finish is nice and clean and itnhas very large wheels which make moment 100 times easier. The kickplate gives you hands free access to the fridge, wasy open. If you looking for an amazingly beautiful fridge this the one for you!

We have a deep freeze in the garage already so the extra room we get with a full refrigerator is great! The temperature works well and the refrigerator keeps your drinks cold. We have also not run into any issues with anything freezing. There is plenty of space in the door for gallons of milk and juice. We also like the two baskets that came with it and is nice to be able see exactly what you have in them.
I wasn't sure how I would like the foot step as an option to open the door. After a couple weeks I have found it to be pretty handy to have when you are loading groceries or larger items that keep your hands full.
Overall we are very happy with the fridge. It is definitely an upgrade over what we previously had and the extra space is great for our family! I would definitely recommend this if you need more refrigerator space!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this refrigerator! This is a no frills, tough as nails appliance. There is a tremendous amount of space and higher than normal shelving and container compartments that are excellent for the storage of bottles!
It’s originally meant for your garage but since I have teenagers and a large game room....that is where I put it. I can now stock it with sodas, juice, water and snacks. Movie and game night just became that much more enjoyable!!
Additionally the refidgerstor is on wheels and can be easily moved where ever you need it to be.
This is an absolutely, hands down a great appliance!

products good but delivery subcontractors HORRIBLE
I bought the fridge freezer combo and waited 12 weeks. They sent subcontractors and these guys DID NOT KNOW how to affix the pedals and scratched my fridge. I have to have the company come BACK to fix everything. I paid 200 for them to screw it all up. I will say the customer service for Gladiator is excellent. Johnny was very professional and helpful!!!. He tried his best to make me happy which is a tall task.

Great Idea/Horrible Reliability
I purchased the matching set of Garage Refrigerator & Freezer. They look nice and was excited to get them up and running. After just over 2 years, the freezer failed and I needed to pay to have the controls replaced. After a couple more months, it failed again due to a bad sensor. Now, after 3 years, it is failing again. The refrigerator cooling coil freezes-up and the refrigerator stops cooling after about every 6 months. It needs to be completely emptied and thawed-out about every 6 - 9 months.
In retrospect, I can see why the warranty is only 1 year since it sounds like Whirlpool doesn't have confidence in the quality either.

This is a nice fridge, albeit expensive. But don't use it in the garage! In spite of the name, this refrigerator is not garage ready. Your liquids, eggs, etc, will freeze unless you heat your garage.

We bought the GARF19XXVK02 model manufactured in 2009. A top freezer bottom fridge design with dual loop heater. This design has kept the fridge items cold in hot summers and cold but not frozen in subfreezing winters in the Mid-Atlantic where we have extreme temp swings summer to winter. Never failed. Referred 3 neighbors who have same reliable performance. Was doing research to refer a 4th neighbor. The new model without the heater makes zero financial sense at that price point to put in a garage since the new design even has a warning about frozen content right in the description. The decision to change the design, apparently unreliable, and at an extreme price does not make sense. Probably why they are not making any during the pandemic and out of stock. Get a cheap normal fridge instead. Or, Whirlpool, go back to the original design of a reliable refrigerator/freezer combo that handles the extreme temperature swings of a garage. That will be the only way I will buy a replacement should mine fail. Bummed and disappointed in MD. Love other Whirlpool products though.

Great design, wish it lasted longer!
This refrigerator has a great design for the garage. It sits up high, it's easy to move on the casters, and the step-to-open pedal at the bottom is great. For those reasons and it being marketed as capable of withstanding the harsh temperature swings experienced in a garage... that's why I spent 2x on this refrigerator instead of a cheap basic model from my local home improvement store. Unfortunately, as so many other reviews of this model have mentioned, my refrigerator failed just outside of warranty. I got a good 18 months out of this refrigerator before it quit. The features of this refrigerator are excellent for a garage fridge; and for the price you would think high quality components would be used to ensure longevity, but no. It really is too bad because if Gladiator / Whirlpool would build this model to live up to the hype it would be amazing. My suggestion for a garage fridge at this point, go buy the cheapest model you can find and know you will replace it every couple years. Unless Whirlpool is willing to beef this thing up where it will actually last 5+ years in a garage, it's a waste of money.

Died after nine months
This is, like it says, a "garage" refrigerator. I wanted an "all" refrigerator for my kitchen. The huge casters make it too high off the ground. They can be removed, but there are no real feet, just skids for it to sit on. It is not efficient for the kitchen. Luckily shelves & drawers from my old fridge fit so space works OK now. But it did die after nine months. They couldn't get anyone to come out & service it, so it was replaced. Hoping it keeps going. I had planned on getting the matching all freezer, but now I don't think so.
