Quite simply, the Bowers & Wilkins 702 S2 speakers are incredible. They sound sublime at low volume, giving crisp, rounded, tight justice to smooth jazz artists like Paul Hardcastle and Chris Botti. Solo instrumentals of sax, flute, or trumpet sound so clear, yes, cliche or not, they literally could be in the room with you. The speakers shine with a little more juice behind them, pick your artist or musical genre, and heat them come alive. The fullness of the sound coming from those three woofers, the continuum midrange, and that amazing tweeter on each speaker makes you want them on all the time, music sounds so good. And, yes, they can crank when you need to feel the music. Feed them with a good amp, they need power behind them to sound their best, don't skimp on the cables, bi-amp them, and couple them with a quality subwoofer (or two), and you will be very pleased, IMHO, because these are quality through and through. I've owned my 702s for just over a year, and have enjoyed them every day of that year. To each his or her own, I am happy with mine.Read full review
