I was a little skeptical because it is so much less expensive than the Kitchenaid stand alone mixer, but I have a handheld Hamilton Beach that I've had for 6 years and still works great! This mixer is ALOT lighter than the Kitchenaid and the bowl is plenty big enough (another thing I was concerned about was it was only a 4 quart rather than the 5 quart that the Kitchenaid has). I'm very pleased with it and it's a GREAT value!!

The mixer is very light weight, which is great. The beaters do not reach the bottom of the bowl. It is very difficult to whip egg whites. I have to take the mixer off the stand. I may as well use my hand mixer. The table that the bowl sits on is suppose to turn the bowl for better mixing. It does not turn at all unless you stand there and keep turning it. That's why I wanted a mixer on a stand so I would not have to keep turning the bowl and not have to take the mixer off the stand for whipping. Thank you

The overall idea is a good one, however the plastic stand seems too flimsy for the very heavy mixer itself. Also it is extremely difficult to get the beaters to get positioned and fixed into the slots of the mixer. I am not sure if I received a faulty mixer or not because the right mount hole for the beater is almost not able to fix and hold the beater in place securely at all! The glass bowl is the one thing I truly like about this deal as it is very large and very heavy glass. It could be a good value if the stand were a bit sturdier and the mixing machine a bit lighter in weight and the insert holes for the beaters actually worked.

The build quality is a bit cheap, I buy Hamilton Beach small appliances for tasks I perform infrequently, like a stand mixer, and they seem a decent value. The biggest complaints are that the lowest speed is faster than i'd prefer, and the edges of the bowl, unlike my ancient kitchenaid, don't swivel on the base far enough to touch the walls, so a spatula is always required.
