Adaptor must be modified to accept a standard garden hose.
To my surprise, the garden hose adaptor that comes with this well-built Spigot - does NOT accept a standard hose.I realized the problem: on both ends of this adaptor is a smooth (unthreaded) 1/16th section. I put the adaptor in a vise, then using a hack saw, cut off the smooth part down to the threads. Now it works as intended.

I've been making rain barrels for a bit now, and after using this set up for my own, I'll recommend no other. The entire kit comes together so you know it's going to fit properly, a rarity, so all you have to do is drill your holes and clean up. Don't try to do any whack forcing of parts like my dad did, if it's not going how you think it should come back and check the source image on this site, it's relatively straight forward for the clear minded. THE FLOW RATE IS AMAZING. You've never experienced gravity fed rainwater flow like this before, I'm essentially running at almost full house pressure from opening this ball valve, going to make winterizing 4 55gallon barrels take seconds instead of minutes. I Highly recommend this product.

used this to convert 32-gallon roughneck garbage can to a rain barrel. The thick silicone washer created a water-tight seal (the smaller spigot with rubber gasket I used before leaked water). The larger ball valve is good for letting more water through, which is nice for gravity-feed low pressure systems.
Deducting 1-star because the 3/4 adapter was NPT on both sides, not GHT (garden hose thread) on the 1 side, so I bought a different brass adapter locally.
Seller's after-sales support was good.

Not a bad product, but I will say that it’s important to know what you’re getting into before you buy this product. For one, I really think you need wrenches to install these properly. You can try to hand-tighten, but the threads aren’t always smooth and need a little force to power through. Also, if you need to remove it after tightening by hand, all I can say is good luck.

And with that out of the way, assuming you do have the wrenches, I would say this is a smart buy. The individual products are more expensive if you bought them individually, so I definitely appreciated finding the bulkhead and valve together at a very reasonable price point.
