Be aware there is no HD rumble, IR or amiibo support, so if that is important to you, especially if you are paying full price, this probably isn't the controller for you. It doesn't bother me though. It at least has motion controls which I use occasionally in games, although I haven't tested it on this controller yet.
Buttons feel good to press and are very responsive and easy to use. The c-stick took some getting used to since it is smaller than the native switch joy sticks, especially since I had thumb grips on my switch lite(as you can see in the picture). Again, I got used to it really quickly despite haven't having used a gamecube controller in over 10 years. My only gripe is the minus button is in an awkward spot. I kind of either have to stretch my right thumb pretty far out to reach it or deal with my left thumb "bumping" into the left joy stick. It's nothing big though since it's not essential to gameplay, it's just a minor inconvenience I noticed.
In terms of actual playability, I want to emphasize that I do not play smash bros, but I do play competitive battle royals like fortnite! I was concerned it would dampen the playability but it actually feels better than the onboard controls once I got used to its placement differences.
I am also happy it came with batteries and was easy to connect. It also wakes up the switch with any button press after you have already connected it the first time, which is a nice feature. I will update this review after a few months of play, but for $25, unless this thing were to malfunction I honestly can't complain. Definetly regret not buying another one as a backup.

The C-stick is the only thing I'm disappointed with, it has no grip on it like the Nintendo GC one, it's just a hard plastic that doesn't work all that great for games that need precise aim. It also might be a little more resistant, but the original GC sticks were pretty damn resistant as well. That's really my only con. Tested it with Windows 10 bluetooth and it synced up real fast, worked perfectly fine with the Dolphin emulator, so that's a big plus. If you've always liked the GC controller get this thing, it's worth it. Hoping it lasts a long time.
Update: The analog stick on PC isn't working quite right. Holding the stick all the way to one side doesn't fully register so when playing some games turning is slow or doesn't even work at all in some menus. I attached a picture of the properties. A firmware update could fix this issue though.

If your a fan of the original Gamecube controllers, have a love of the dark Pokemon UMBREON, then I highly recommend it; battery usage are AA's, however you can get more than a few good hours of play-time on the controller, even with cheaper batteries you pick up at a Dollar store like Dollar General or Big Lots if you live in the state's. There's also the addition of the left bumper button or L1 so the console is compatible with other Nintendo Switch titles like the Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Odyssey... Though that's mostly it other than it's a good controller.
How does this work in function of other switch titl- NOT VERY WELL!!! First off, this controller was designed with SMASH Bros. in mind and is one of the few controllers any nerd, gamer or die-hard nintendo fan would go out of their way to get to play smash on since, before ultimate; Super Smash Bros. Melee was the best of the best, the crown jewel of the series, the mechanics fleshed out, it's roster roughly balanced, perfect... And these folk will have played that beauty on original Gamecube controllers.
In other games, however, the experience's vary. Prime example games are Luigi's Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 among a few others; though I wanted to pull these 3 out for a few specific reasons.
The Legend of Zelda, BOTW: You attack button is Y, Jumping is X, A is multi use such as talking and chest opening, B is for Canceling and other said actions. You can't really re-assign the buttons to match the Wind Waker control Scheme and trust me, I've tried. Though it's been a while since I've played it and the control scheme may be interchangeable? I really don't know, but I do know the control scheme with this controller in particular is uncomfortable at best.
Luigi's Mansion 3: The Yellow C-stick doesn't have that great sensitivity or range; this can be a problem with trying to face a certain direction to capture ghosts and slam them everywhere, as well as the use of your flashlight. You use a joycon's "right" stick layout or on another Pro-Controller, the control feels fluid, but for this title, it feels restrained by that. Against the original game on the Original hardware, that problem is non-existent.
Splatoon 2: Same problem with the C-stick and lacking motion controls. I can understand to cut costs, leave out certain parts such an RF sensor to use Amiibo and Motion Sensor's for tilt controls; though to use in a game like this where that extra view space to paint the field whether traditionally or through the motion controls; this controller cannot deliver this.
If I had to be held to a wall and asked what to do to improve the controller; I would recommend a controller application or a method to change the controller up; such as a method to re-arrange the button inputs; the 'B' button on the controller can be 'Y' for the classic sword slash in the legend of zelda BOTW, or mess with the sensitivity on the C-stick so we don't have to drag our actions through. If something like this was implemented, then these controllers may sell a lot more product or at least make them accessible and adaptable across all software from the switch.
