(Wife here) I've been using this product for years! I use it exactly like this and get a perfect wax each time:

1) Put the jar in water slightly below the jar lid on the stove. Heat until honey like consistency.
2) Ensure skin is totally dry and without moisturizer or oil
3) Spread the wax just thick enough to cover the hairs. *Do not use too thick a layer or it won't work well*
4) Place cloth on wax and press along cloth a few times so the cloth is totally smooth against the skin.
5) Depending on area, hold skin taut, and pull cloth opposite direction of hair growth very rapidly.

This is so easy to use, I don't know why I didn't try at-home waxing before the pandemic. Even if you make a bit of a mess, it just comes off with a bit of warm water, no stickiness. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pull the strips off myself, but it's crazy easy, nothing like ripping off a band-aid. The sugar goop smells like a really mellow honey tea. You can just rinse the strips and sticks in warm water. The included strips get me through just about one lower leg, so it requires waxing in a few stages, letting the strips dry in between. I used about half the container to wax both lower legs and underarms once, which is such a great value compared with professional waxing. And yes, it works really well at actually removing my hair.
