My Flaks are the 9188 frames, sized 59 lenses, I bought the Black Iridium Polarized Lenses. My old lenses were “PrizmP” lenses, but were the blue ones….they were cracked and wore out. I tried buying some knock off lenses for J think 30 or 40 bucks, but within a month, what I assume was the polarized coating was flaking off. These were WAY more than what I wanted to spend, but I used them daily, so i figure just bite the bullet.
No pictures in the descriptions show “PrizmP” I’m not a sunglasses snob, but If I’m spending the money, I want to buy exactly what I have, except for color. I thought if these were different, I would return them, no big deal. I got kinda tired of trying to figure it out.
Turns up these are PrizmP lenses, they fit great, awesome clarity, and are exactly what I was hoping for

Mirrored orange lenses look fine when your actually mountain biking, hiking, running, etc. BUT, they are kind of weird looking when your just driving to the trailhead and stop to get coffee...? :) And I know it's kind of a dumb thing to worry about. But you really catch that flaming orange/red in the rear view mirror constantly when your driving so it's a constant reminder!
SO, I bought new lenses so as not to have the RED EYE! And that worked. BUT, I find the Prisim Black Iridium to be too dark. I can not wear them while riding in the forest where there are deep dark shadows even on the brightest sunny days. the contrast just isn't good enough "for me". (and admittedly my eyes have a harder time with that as I've aged) And I assume it will be an issue late spring and early fall when the sun doesn't apex very high and there are those long shadow? So the bummer thing is there isn't really a good way to "know for sure" how the lenses are going to be unless you buy them at a $100 bucks a pop and try them out... Otherwise I do love Oakley quality!! You at least get what you pay for. So for now I'm just using these in more open sunny terrain and bought a cheaper pair of riding glasses for low light or forest with shadows riding. That works. But I am going to buy another Oakley lens to try when I decide. And if that doesn't work maybe I'll go back to the RED EYES...?
