The center compartment has a sleeve that I use for my laptop, and I can fit my thin travel keyboard, mouse, charger, and headset in there with it. The back compartment fits my notebooks, a purselet, and a cardigan. The front pouch is for pens and cables, and right now the tablet pouch is perfect for my collection of cloth masks that I'm required to wear at work, although it really does seem like a worthless pocket otherwise just taking up space.
Update November 2021: I've been using this bag daily as a work bag since June of 2020 and it still looks brand new. I've grown to love it more (increase to 5 stars) as it's held up really well and there are so many functional storage pockets and pouches, which is great since we have open office/no assigned seating so everything I need lives in my bag. The material also keeps things inside pretty dry when you're out in the rain, which is also very nice. The only thing I really wish this had is a stretchy mesh water bottle holder on the side opposite of the zip side pouch (which holds my travel umbrella since it's not shaped well for a water bottle). That would make this bag absolutely perfect.
The material is fantastic and looks very professional in the black color.
The design of the outer pocket is very similar to the ebags slim laptop bag (featured in the attached pictures on the right). With the compression straps the size of this bag is not that much larger in terms of depth relative to the ebags slim, but is a little wider and taller. The material I thought looked much better than the ebags one, which also had a large logo on the back which was off putting.
The laptop compartment is quite generous as is the middle compartment, which can hold a fair amount of clothing. Again when not in use the compression straps can keep your bag quite thin. In the ebags slim laptop bag I was not able to fit that much more than my current devices, chargers, and headphones. In this bag I was able to fit everything with room to spare.
The straps are very comfortable
Overall I think this bag is great for taking to work and for travel

Overall I think this bag is great for taking to work and for travel
It carries a lot. I had 2 pair shoes, my power cords and adapters, my camera, kindle, some magazines and my travel folder, quite a bit of snacks, jewelry in the hidden zip pocket pad on the underside, all my socks and underwear for 12 days, 2 jeans, 3 heavier leggings, 2 light sweaters, 6 tops, and a rain jacket! I think I had even more in it coming home. It did fit under the seat in front of me with a good squeeze on the compression straps (love that feature!). A little stuck out but not too much it was worrisome. It does take up the spot under the seat entirely so if you need leg room, I would overhead bin it. I liked it on the floor because it allowed me continual access.
Durability....Good sturdy fabric. I lugged this backpack on 2 flights from the U.S to Spain, by train to Arles France, by train to Girona, by train to Barcelona, by bus to the airport, and then back on my 2 flights to the U.S. All of this in 1 trip and it held up VERY well. I guess the only things I didn't like was the shoulder straps kind of cut into my neck. Not so bad that they were painful, but they still hit my neck no matter how I adjusted them. And the water bottle side storage pocket is a bit small. Will ONLY hold a 16 oz bottle, no larger.
I loved the numerous compartments in the backpack. First of all because the top zip on some of the compartments allowed easy access on the plane and trains. I just put the things I knew I would want in a pinch just inside that zip location. Didn't have to dig around to find anything. And also love the compartments because it allowed me to organize and plan my clothes for each separate destination without having to dig around my checked bag.
Oh, and when I bought this bag I actually bought the smaller version too but decided to keep the larger one because of the numerous more features and the option to change the size with the compression straps if needed!
All in all, a great bag with LOTS of room for the price. I do recommend.
