The replacement heat plate will last longer with proper maintenance.
(1)Make sure that you clean your heat plate after each use, and keep them dry;
(2)Season them by brushing with oil after each use;
(3)Leave the dampers open a bit so that condensation does not collect in the grill;
(4)Put the lid back on your grill when it is not in use;
(5)Cover the grill when it is not in use;
If you need to store your grill for a long period of time, heavily coat them in cooking oil, wrap them in a plastic bag and store in your covered grill.
Using a scraper on any interior grill part is not recommended.

The slot was too small and the grill is smaller across than my old ones, but my BBQ maker went out of business so I needed something. I was able to still make these work by just setting them on the pieces that hold them up. Just do not shake the BBQ. lol. I grilled some Salmon yesterday and these worked great. I also used a BBQ veggie fish mat I had just bought and it was amazing. Brought my rusted out grill back to life.

Every bit as good as the originals. Maybe better... About the same weight, but these have a little sharper angle to them & about a 1/4" sheet metal bend on the sides. Never mind that though, the real reason you need to buy these is the price. Just one of these at you know where.. is $13.89. Nuff said. In fact you might consider buying two sets like I did after I received the first set and was pleasantly surprised. They are gonna need replacing in a grilling season or two anyways, so why not have a spare ready to go..Know what I mean? Plus, what if they're not available on amazon from any more when you need to replace them again? You won't have to say an expletive & say I wish I woulda bought another set. :)
