Ordered this band saw to get some special projects done. I have a metal chop saw, but it doesn't do the tube steel I need to cut. This saw arrived two days later than promised. I tucked it in the shop, and got back to it, today. As soon as I opened the box, I knew we were in for trouble. All the Styrofoam was destroyed, one of the capacitor covers on the motor was crushed, the motor end housing was dented. My supposition is the box was dropped on its end, at some point. SO...needing to get started on stuff, I assembled the saw. It certainly looks like it's a refurbished unit...paint not quite matching between some parts, horrible 'wear' on the switch shroud, the rear blade cover is bent and scratched, oil and cutting residue on the vise parts and on the saw bed. First things, first...I plugged in the motor and tested it. Seems to run OK, so I completed the assembly. Now, I know some folks will say 'you get what you pay for', but I don't buy that line. I purchased a NEW bandsaw, this one arrived damaged, and appears to be a refurb. I've got work to do, though, so I'll put it to use. Will be making test cuts, tomorrow, after confirming square and plumb tracking.Going forward, though, power tools of this nature will not come from Amazon, you can be sure. I've never had this issue with Northern Tool...UPDATE...Finally got time to do my test cuts. I was able to get the saw properly aligned, but the blade supplied with the unit is pretty much crap. Cuts are slow, and it's not a 'walk away' unit. You need to keep a close eye on it while it's cutting. Good thing I bought more blades... Bottom line? Would NOT buy this one, again.

Wheels have a huge rise in the center to hold the rubber ring on........that rubber ring goes flat as soon as you put tension on it and if you're using a smaller blade it WILL NOT stay on. Just slips right off the front or back and adjusting it does absolutely no good. The table will never be square because the blade runs way off center as does the entire unit when you put tension on the blade. The whole unit bends when tension is placed. Vacuum port is way too small and the grate blocks most of that. Miter gauge is way loose. Took a lot of painters tape to fix that. I made an acrylic (plexiglass) cover for the top thinking it would help but, the blade is just too off center compared to the miter track. In the end I returned it.

I have had this bandsaw for about a year now, it still works great. I have probably made about 2000 cuts on it so far. I was debating between this and a cold cut saw, I'm glad I went with this because it can make big cuts while you work on other things. Well made for the money (stand is cheap, motor quality is unknown but would be easy to replace. The saw itself appears to be bulletproof.

Do not buy from this seller. Bought the saw thinking it’s probably a light duty saw perfect for a hobbyist like myself. When I picked it up I had high hopes that I could cut that night. But low and behold when I got it I opened the box and there was metal chips and rust all over the saw. Not to mention the broken saw mount as well as the motor that does not engage the saw. When you turn it on all I heard was grinding. I feel as if this saw, if in working condition would be a good saw. Just a heads up with my experience

But low and behold when I got it I opened the box and there was metal chips and rust all over the saw. Not to mention the broken saw mount as well as the motor that does not engage the saw. When you turn it on all I heard was grinding. I feel as if this saw, if in working condition would be a good saw. Just a heads up with my experience

I received machine heavily damaged from transport but to be just Amazon offered me solution to return the machine for a full refund or if I wanted to keep it Amazon gave me small discount of 15% which I accepted because I need the machine. Real problems started when I started assembling the machine. Most parts did not fit and the stand is so flimsy that makes operating machine dangerous because it can flip over very easily. The wise for holding the work is totally useless and dangerous because of over machining the guide holding it. The work piece tends to jump out all the time.

After lots of problems and "improvements" I managed to make it work but I'm totally disappointed with it.
In whole this is worst machine tool I ever had in my life. I just wonder how they can machine of this
"quality" even put on the market...
