This was designed to replace a High Sierra luggage with a detachable backpack. Nice and convenient, but it was stolen.
I've found that I can get much into the main section. The more accessible portion has many places to store stuff conveniently. The extended handle feels secure and the handle is soft to the touch. When I fitted it into the overhead storage on a Southwest B-737, it used the maximum space allowed and fit well.
The backpack arrangement gave me concern. But, it will fit a laptop and various other items. While it is fabric instead of a hard structure, I was OK with using it. It was easily put into the storage space in front of my seat.
Once in the terminal, I found the loop which allows me to slide the backpack over the extended handle. Then, for security's sake, I slide the backpack straps over the extended handle. Oh, and the width was narrow enough to walk with it down the aisle of the B-737. That was nice and secure while going from the plane to the terminal to the tram to walking through the entry terminal to my relative's car for pick-up.
I miss my stolen luggage, but they don't seem to sell it anymore. A wise investment for domestic travel for 7 days plus or minus your intent (here lesisure), except if you take along many items.
