The sounds are crisp and the cushion inside the shoes makes it very confortable. Though I love my new pair of tap shoes I overlooked the "slide buckle." There is nothing like a belt hole, and it's "just a slide in buckle." I was initially skeptical that they might fall off while practicing, but honestly if you slide the buckle in all the way, it doesn't cause trouble.

I am a long time ballet dancer, and I've always wanted to try tap, but was too intimidated. My friend and I agreed to take private lessons together.
I bought these because I was in a rush and class was in a week, so I needed something quick and cheap. I have a street size of 7.5, after reading some reviews, I bought a 7.5.
They fit but they had a finger width of wiggle room, not enough to go down half. The metal plate on the toe almost seemed too small, and the quality of the sound is okay, it sounds dull. The shank is very soft and not very supportive.
When you get fitted for pointe shoes, they put you in the softest shoe so you can strengthen your foot muscles. I dont know if that's the same with tap but personally I feel like that kind of applies here.

All in all, if your just doing tap for fun, these are for you. If your planning on starting tap and really investing time into it, save up and get a nice pair.
