The Blendmount for Escort 360 Max Radar Detector is awesome and puts alternative to shame.
I hesitated paying this much for something so simple so I got a $15 alternative first, big mistake. Although I installed the cheap one correctly, no matter how it was positioned with added dashcam bracket it wouldn’t stay put, dropping, and vibrated so much you’d think it was a window mirror massager, testing its own endurance.
This Blendmount with ladder frame aluminum was a little easier to mount and comes with two extra screws for a predrilled threaded hole in the upper (removable) segment than previous cheap mount and it really works.
It’s trick to get the detector mounted as prong tension helps hold it in place. Daily removal is a PITA so eat to just leave it. Good instructions show how and very importantly the order to tighten screws, finishing with upper mirror shaft crew.
Once all was tucked under mirror and dashcam out of sight forward right of my triple panel blind spot clip on mirror, it looks built in.
Best of all, I took it across the roughest local highway under construction and rock steady, no detectable flex. The previous shook so much on this same road it was half to read display.
Yes it’s overpriced, a test of supply vs demand, Escort recommended.
Mirror mounting is best with a mirror power tap or hard wired to fusebox cord that is pretty easy to hook up any tuck into headliner.
Since the buttons on top of detector for the most compact mounting spacing makes buttons tricky to press as you have to slip fingers between top mounting clip and detector.
The external power cord option provides a remote mute/report (the later if you use Escort Live app. I mounted my switch out of primary field of view on left side of steering column.
The mount comes with a very small black tie strap that is handy to secure the power cord, mine goes first to Escort cam that has a short pigtail phone cord that powers the detector jack.
This is a little tricky to get positioned just right patience gets excellent results.
There aren’t many products I’d say that cost seven times more than a basic one but I can say this one is worth it. The vibration testing of the radar detector and dashcam are over thank goodness!
