2 Years International Travel, but now a ripped handle
This backpack I needed when I upgraded to a large 17.3 laptop ASUS ROG GL753VE Laptop. This backpack easily fits this laptop, a large 12.3 iPad Pro and all of my items. I've traveled nationally and internationally and I like that this backpack has a sternum strap, can carry heavy loads at times and can attach to my roller bag to get the weight off my shoulders. After 2 years, the handle developed a rip so I'm attempting to get it fixed through warranty, will update when I get a response.

I have to first off say that this new offering is in no way better then the backpack I used to buy from this same manufacturer. It had way more pockets and was easier to pack. With that said, this one wasn't too bad though. I wish it had the extra inside pockets to organize the stuff I need to carry, but overall it worked as expected, carried everything I needed, and worked well. I have only traveled once with it, but it did its job. I use it daily between work and home, but its main purpose was to be the backpack I use when traveling for work. With that focus, this backpack seems to do what its needed to do.

I used this for a recent trip to Alaska for which I wanted a combination trail backpack and side piece for flight that would carry computer, tablet, and e-reader, along with snacks for the plane. This is a good "hybrid" with that intent. The soft rubber handle is terrific for carrying off-shoulder. It fit under the seats of 737's very well, even when reasonably full.

What keeps me from a five-star rating? I agree with others that it has threads which may not be a good indicator of long-term sturdiness. It is not as comfortable as other backpacks; not bad, just a bit stiff. The trolley strap mesh to fit the bag over rolling luggage handles is snug and you need to reach quite far to get the retractable handle when deployed. I also agree that another compartment or two inside might help with storage.

Lastly, I would say the "checkpoint friendly" configuration is OK in the States; it was not allowed in Canada and this is apparently true in other countries. You sacrifice some storage for that optionality, which might not be worth it if you travel abroad.

Overall, this is a well-designed bag with good material that would probably keep content dry during rain/snow. Zippers are good and again, the grab handle is terrific. Pros outweigh cons but I cannot speak to long-term durability or comfort.

Another point after some use--the bag does not have a contrasting interior. That can make it tough to identify objects or storage devices.

Esta mochila es de gran calidad, es muy espaciosa y ligera a comparación con otros modelos similares de otras marcas. La cantidad de compartimentos es perfecta. Tiene n sistema de suspencion en las correas de la mochila que la hacen muy cómoda cuando traes muchas cosas dentro de ella. Las correos no son tan gruesas como otras marcas pero aun asi son muy resistentes y cómodas por su acojinamiento exacto. Los cierres son de gran calidad.
