Ordered this for a small concession stand and it works great. Worried about how long the batteries would last since we're open for 16 hours a day but have been pleasantly surprised that they last the whole time. They hooked up quickly through Bluetooth to our iPads for the Square account and began working. Much faster than trying to hand-jam prices into the system and wondering if things were entered correctly. Also helps with inventory. Would not hesitate to buy these again.

I chose this color because it would be easy to find at checkout. Instead, I was shipped a dark blue, and I don't even think this color exists, based on other vendors' pics and the Socket website. So that was my first feeling of alienation. But it's also the fourth Socket scanner (for Square checkout in store) I have had to buy. The first two wouldn't hold a charge after less than a year. The third, a red one, was easy to find but did not reliably work -- sometimes it worked well, and other times it would show "connected" and not successfully scan. Then we went back to the second one, keeping it plugged in (no easy feat.).

With the arrival of this latest one, they suggested we use an app to connect it. The app helped, but we are still so frustrated with the randomness of its performance in the workplace that I need a new solution to keep my employees' heads from exploding. I am begging the software vendor to help us with selecting a different model completely. I'm so frustrated with this brand I could scream.
