Purchased this to replace my broken Concept cfd-135. The unit looks identical which was nice sense the indentation on the headliner is the same shape. The install was really straight forward since I had an existing DVD player installed previously. The Pyle came with 3 covers, a remote, and rca to 3.5mm head jack like stated. The DVD player works flawlessly. All parts of the unit work great!! I am very happy with my purchase!! This DVD player is a great player with a great price compared to others.

Had this unit installed in my Yukon. Quit working 2 months after install. Had to pay to have it taken out ($50), pay to ship it to Pyle ($20), pay for return shipping ($20). "Buyer Beware" it only comes with a 30 day warranty from Amazon. Pyle honors a one year warranty but at a cost. Spend the extra money for quality product. ******Update did get unit back quickly and is back working great. 1 star to 3 star for excellent customer service.

I recently purchased the Pyle PLRD145 DVD player/monitor for our 2004 Toyota Sienna. I'm a fairly handy guy, and thought I would tackle the installation myself. Our van had the rear stock audio, and my plan was to replace this unit with the Pyle DVD unit. My biggest concern was getting power to the unit. YouTube was of little assistance, as actually not that many videos cover this portion of the job (only to "run power"). I gave myself five hours to install the Pyle unit one Sunday. After driving around and gathering the supplies I needed, I finished it in under 6 hours. The unit works well, great picture, easy controls. Screen size is great for our Sienna van, both from the middle and rear seats.

Here are a few notes regarding my install, in the event any of it can be use to you:

1) For power, buy some wire and fish it down and around the driver door, under the kick-plate and then under the dash where your inside cabin fuses are. Go to an automotive store and buy an "Add-a-Fuse" or "Add-a-Circuit." These replace one of your existing fuse outlets and splits it. One fuse runs the circuit that was existing (heater in my case), and the other runs the new circuit (my new Pyle DVD player). The hardest part was getting the wire around the airbags without obstructing their path.

2) The mounting bracket ended up being my biggest headache. I had to fabricate two cross-braces for the Pyle mounting bracket to screw to. I'm not a fabricator, so with a saw, grinder, drill and measuring tape, I finally got it all done. It's solid and I was able to mount the DVD player to the roof cross beams that were already there for the Toyota Rear Audio. We have a sunroof in the van, so care was given not to obstruct the path.

3) I did not use the a/v outputs that came with the unit, and so they were tucked up inside the unit. I did use the a/v inputs and ran a secondary line down the sidewall to an a/v jack where our kids can plug in their old XBox. I also chose at this time not to wire the door lights. I did run a wire to an existing dome light, but right now am choosing not to connect it. I have white LED lights throughout the van, and don't need two more bright white lights to come on when the doors open. I did however wire the Pyle lights to the hot/ground leads and now those lights can be turned on independently of the van doors.

4) The manual is horrible. Out of a 17-page manual, only one page is devoted to installation. And the grammar is horrible. For example: "And install special screws to avoid loose." It was of little use.

5) We purchased four of the XO wireless IR headphones. The volume was not loud enough even just sitting in the driveway. We'll be exchanging those and buying some better ones that received higher reviews.

Overall, the screen is bright and we look forward to our first road-trip with it.

After trying two different style/model wireless headphones, along with a wired headphone, the sound volume is terribly low (and this is parked in my garage!). I called Pyle tech support and they said this is a common complaint with this model. What!? They said they are working on the technology and hope to have newer models soon with higher volume output. I'm downgrading this product review to a 1-star and will attempt to return it to Amazon. Low volume output is unacceptable in a product like this.

Received a replacement unit from Amazon. Tried the new unit in the van and had exactly the same results with sound volume - it was too low to audibly hear from any source - IR headphones, on-board speakers or from the headphone jack. I called the manufacturer a second time and they said to ship the item to them (at my cost) and they would look at the internals of the unit (at my cost) to see if they could fix it. No thanks! Two units both performing with low audio and no viable support from manufacturer equals a unit that should never be purchased in my opinion. Both units have been sent back to Amazon and I've ordered a Tview in hopes we can hear the audio. BTW, Amazon has been great in regards to shipping and returns.

I ordered this item on a Tuesday. I was told that it would arrive within a week to a week and a half. To my surprise it arrived in TWO DAYS! My buddy installed this in my Chevy Venture to replace the factory one that never worked right. Took him 3 hours but he did it right, like I knew he would and it looks professional and looks like it belongs. The screen is HUGE! the Picture quality is excellent. I really like this product. So you may be asking, why not a 5 star rating? I gave it 4 stars because the only issue I had with it was that the external speakers at max volume can only be heard really when idling. At highway speeds you won't be able to hear it. I tried plugging in a headphone and the sound was not any better. I tried the FM transmitter through my stereo and I had two much interference on all channels. I live near Philadelphia so this could be why as there are a ton of radio stations. I did not buy wireless headphones. I did find an alternate solution. My Venture has a CD player and a Cassette player. I went to Walmart and purchased one of those tape converters that many have used to play portable CD players in their cars in the past. I had to also buy an extension cord for it. I plugged this into the headphone jack and then put the cassette in the cassette player. It worked perfect. Perfect high quality stereo sound with no background noise through my stereo. The boys love it and now instead of hearing them fight on long road trips and having to play referee, they now sit quietly and enjoy their movies.

I would recommend this product if you can set up the sound the way I did or if Wireless headphones have a volume control to get more sound out of them. My wired headphone did not have an option to increase the volume above what the products highest setting already was.
