    Breaks on its own!!! Beware!
    I've had this mount for quite some time. However, I would not buy it again. The suction cup would randomly pop off once every other week, which was annoying but not terrible.The bigger issue is it randomly sheared while I was driving and my phone fell along with the broken mount. I'm an adult and did not apply any load to it, the only force it got on it was from holding the phone. The mount was out of warranty, so I understand not receiving a new mount from customer service; but they wanted to charge me more than I paid for the entire mount for just the replacement arm. I would avoid Arkon as this is the second mount that I've had from them that has broken and their customer service sucks.

    Style: Holder MountVerified Purchase
    After going thru a few of the flex arm style windshield/dash mounts that were cheaply made, and that's putting it kindly, I stumbled onto this little gem. This mount was everything I wanted and needed. First of all, I am streaming live while driving so the one thing you'll find if you want to do the same is that flex arm mounts WILL NOT WORK! TOO MUCH SHAKE! My GPS mount is one with a solid arm with a ball pivot setup at the end but it's for a GPS and won't work with a smartphone. I was able to rubber band my HTC Evo Design 4g to it while I awaited this Arkon mount's arrival. It was worth the wait. It is built VERY solidly, no shake (using on windshield but haven't tried dash mount) and everything just feels like it should. The one thing, and I think others may have mentioned it, is the release button does abruptly pop open, scaring passengers. It doesn't bother me because it's a small price to pay to have a properly built and designed mount. THANK YOU ARKON!! I highly recommend this for anyone with a smartphone that needs a mount for windshield or dash at a nice price.

    Wasn't expecting very much for the price, but when it arrived, I was surprised. Because it is a universal mount, it will hold my phone whether it has a case or not. I read reviews of more model specific mounts where it wouldn't hold it if it has a case, making this mount superior to brand specific premium models. It holds on flat surfaces very well. It adjusts at two places and each does so very well. You can flip the phone landscape or portrait very easily while driving.

    Overall, it's a great mount. I can press all of the buttons on my phone while still having access to the screen.

    When I first bought this, I was afraid that I was going to have to worry about the suction cup constantly falling off of the windshield while driving, but after several 300+ mile journeys, I haven't had any issues with it at all.

    The button on the side of the cellphone holder is very nice. It's possible to press the button, grab your phone and close it shut again, all with one hand if you are trying to get going in a hurry. The pieces fit together pretty easily. I haven't used the dash mount at all, and I doubt I ever will, unless the suction cup breaks off or something, which doesn't seem very likely to happen any time soon.

    I am able to store the entire thing (broken down into several different pieces) in my glove compartment, along with my drivers manual, registration, and some other vechile paperwork. It doesn't take up a whole lot of room, which is a nice bonus.

    The only things that I don't really like about this is that when my cellphone is sitting in the holder, its kind of hard to hear the speaker, since it is partially blocked by the holder itself. This is a non-issue though, if you plug your cellphone into the cars speakers through AUX power. Also, the plastic feels a little cheap, even though it is pretty thick. If I were to ever step on any of this, I'm pretty sure I'd snap it completely in half. Just be careful with it though and you shouldn't have any kind of problems with it.

    I was looking for the best one that would last for a long time. Doing my research the cheaper ones always had comments saying the suction cup didn't stick well or the plastic broke right away. This had everything I was looking for. The cellphone holder tray rotates horizontal or vertically, The feet are long enough to hold my big evo 4g with extended battery and large case. The bottom feet do move to allow for charging cables. The arm is very sturdy and will not break. The wings on the sides squish very tightly to just about any phone of any size and the nice padding wont break it, but will hold very snug. The suction cup sticks to the window or dashboard plate so well to remove you even have to give it a little tug. This thing can be put into any angle and any position due to its ball joint behind the phone tray and the pivoting arm connected to the suction cup. The only negative I can think of and it hasn't caused a problem, but I have that feeling it could be a problem in the future is, the ball joint behind the phone tray screws down really tight, but the tray still moves just a bit with some force as if it were slightly stripped. Maybe they made it like this on purpose so that you can swivel it to different angles while being tight, I dont know. It does hold its position very well though and does not fall down or move. Also, I didn't want to go with the goose neck long arm style because of vibration and shaking which I am seeing a lot of so I went with this more thick shorter and sturdy arm. On nice roads and freeways its great with little to no shaking, but on slow and bumpy roads there is shaking which is understandable. Also you can set the base and feet on the dashboard while connected to your windshield and all vibration is gone. So this is by far the best I have found from my months of research and testing for my money and I look forward to using my gps in the car even if I know where I'm going.     It's ok for what it is. I had a iOttie before as my first car mount so I'm a tiny bit spoiled by that. I couldn't use that mount anymore since phone are becoming bigger this days.

    For this car mount, you need both hands to secure it in place as it doesn't auto-lock. You put the phone in, and squeeze the two holders together to lock it. To release, you can use one hand to push in the little button the bottom left side.

    Phone fits a large variety of phones. I'm using a Nexus 6 with a Unicorn Beetle Case and it clears it fine. Also, it clears the side buttons of the phone with the "U" mounts (which in my opinion are a great idea). Most phone holders side mount hits the buttons.

    The suction cup is okay, it doesn't have a sticky residue. I didn't use the pad that comes with it so I can't really commit on that.

    This mount DOES wobble, but it's not extreme. You can still read stuff but it'll bother other people. I tried this on different roads to ensure that it isn't just the road's fault. Also, when you mount it to your door (like I did) when you open and close the door it rattles because of the door closing "thump".

    In the end, I gave it 3 stars as "it's ok".
