Having recently bought the small version of this bag, and leaving glowing reviews, I didn’t anticipate the pressing need of owning this one, too. I will admit that although I spoke very highly of the small bag, I mentioned the one design feature I would change, that being it’s unusually small size. What I forgot to mention is the lack of foresight by whomever decided on the zipper lengths. The zippers are too short for the available opening sizes on the bag. It becomes a real hassle to dig stuff out of the compartments, and even increasing the opening sizes by an inch would help immeasurably. The bag would be much more functional, yet retain the features that are so attractive, the way it “melts” into your body comfortably being one of my favorites. Ok, small point, and since this should not be a review of the other bag, I will move on to this one.
Given my frustrating experiences with struggling to access items that I crammed into my little bag, (still love it if I am not carrying much), I decided to purchase this bag. Although it appeared to be very large, I bought it because I began to wish for a bag that could accommodate my iPad mini. I know- tall order. I love Piel leather, so my choices were somewhat limited, given the hundreds of choices if you are not limiting yourself to Piel. You get what you pay for, and once you experience this leather, it is evident that they are real bargains. So, I took the plunge get and ordered my new larger bag.
Immediately upon its arrival, I broke out the iPad (sheathed in a minimal case) and IT FIT! Not just fit, but fit in either the main compartment or the “secret” back section. I was beyond thrilled! The bag could not be more perfect for those times when I need to have my iPad mini on hand. It is very elegant (as a Fanny pack can be), due to both thoughtful design and the fabulously gorgeous Piel leather. Also there is a slide type buckle that tidies up the hanging strap problem. The only thorn worth mentioning is that the tan leather is a little darker and redder than what is pictured; but honestly, this bag is so perfect that I don’t care. I only mention it in an attempt to be helpful, mindful of the fact that these kinds of discrepancies matter a lot to some people. I never want to be without this bag, so I will also be ordering the black-that is how much I love it!

LOVE! Big Waist Room - Beautiful Workmanship - Color a Bit Off - See Pics
I own many waist packs (Mr. Unstylish) and love them. I have severe neck and shoulder pain and tend to carry a lot of things, so I have standardized on waist packs. This is my favorite, as far as looks and style. It is very beautiful leather - but it is not fully lined - some sides are bare leather (see my photos.) - UPDATE - ordered a second one and it IS fully lined - but there is no leather between the front and middle compartment like in my pic - so they make these 2 ways - I prefer the leather divider. I put up a side view so you can see how it tapers at the bottom - it is nice and deep - but the main pocket gets narrow and the back and main pocket share the same space. I ordered the "saddle" color and must mention that it is both darker and redder than the pics. It is still beautiful - but if you are expecting that exact shade - or hate reddish - you won't like it. The strap in the pic is adjusted to my 42 inch waist - so this should fit almost anyone. Watch the price it goes up and down regularly by as much as $20. I did NOT get this for free or a reduced price nor do I pay much attention to reviews from those who DO get the product for free.
