This fridge does exactly what I expected it to.
To start it showed up at my door well packaged and was easy to set up. The fridge was light enough that I was able to pick it up myself. This is the perfect size fridge for what I needed, small enough to move easily but big enough to fit what I need. I put this in a house I’m renovating to keep drinks and food for when I’m there working. The glass shelves inside are easily removed to allow large items to fit. Also the can dispenser on the door is a nice touch. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase.

If you get it from the right store here on Amazon and it’s shipped correctly then this is a great unit. This is the second one I own. The other is used on our pool lanai and its going strong after nine years. The interior light is a handy and most other compacts don’t have that. Real solid performance.

As far as we can tell so far is that the refrigerator runs okay. The looks would be great except for all the damage on the exterior. The right side has five, quarter sized dimples in a row. The door has the same type of damage plus the top left corner is cracked. The left side matches the right side. The top left rear where it meets the back looks like someone took a hatchet and made a v-shaped dent. (1 1/8 inch)

I was a little skeptical because of the reviews detailing the cosmetic damage and poor packaging but decided to give it a try anyways:
Starting with the Cons: There were a few dents and scratches when I received the fridge and the packaging was so messy because of the flakey and cheap Styrofoam. I'm still picking up Styrofoam pieces in random places LOL. It also makes some weird noises and the noise causes aren't listen in the manual but a quick google will tell you what noises are common and which aren't. It's not super loud but if you are someone sensitive to slight ringing every so often you may want to look for another one.
Also be careful with the Freezer Setting. I had to turn mine down because it started overworking the compressor and its not stated in the manual how to make sure its the right setting. (It probably also depends on your location)

Now the Pros!: Even with the cosmetic damage, I've used it non-stop for about 4 months now with no problems (Other than the freezer thing mention before). There's adequate space inside for a dorm or, in my case, a mini room-kitchen. I kept eggs, produce, frozen nuggies and pizza and everything stayed cold and fresh as it would in a regular fridge. It's not very heavy as well so it was easy to move up the stairs and within my room.

In conclusion, if you can look past the cosmetic damage and slight noise annoyance its a very decent fridge for the price.

To start it showed up at my door well packaged and was easy to set up. The fridge was light enough that I was able to pick it up myself. This is the perfect size fridge for what I needed, small enough to move easily but big enough to fit what I need. I put this in a house I’m renovating to keep drinks and food for when I’m there working. The glass shelves inside are easily removed to allow large items to fit. Also the can dispenser on the door is a nice touch. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase.

I was upset to see the Magic Chef 1.7 Cu fridge, the 18eyw-2 was discontinued….. but the new model is FAR superior! It’s quieter, vents less ambient heat, and gets as cold or colder without icing over nearly as much!
