A great stand - once properly set up. Here's what you need to do....
This is one of the few taller stands I could find on Amazon that are suitable for a small pair of Cambridge Audio speakers. A taller stand is required to raise small speakers so that the tweeter is at ear height. The other reviews of the Transdeco stands were positive so a set was ordered. The stand fits together quite easily but, as other reviewers have noted, it does need some minor help to make it truly solid. Remember, when it comes to audio equipment, vibration is the enemy so everything needs to be solid to ensure the best sound. The main complaint with the product is the attachment of the center pole to the glass base. Because the hole in the base is oversized, the bolt that runs through it from the underside to fasten into the center post has no lateral support and so the assembly is not entirely secure. Thank you to the other reviewer here who recommended installing 3/4" diameter washers with a 5/16th center into the hole to provide that missing support. I ordered a pack of 100 at the same time as the stands and I used over half of them during assembly - see photos. The washers fitted perfectly and provided the missing support. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KFS11QD). You should also use the washers underneath the top plate to provide a tight fit. I'm also planning on adding a couple of rubber washers at the top and bottom of each washer stack to prevent any potential rattling. With the stands securely assembled the next job was to deaden the central pillar which rang like a bell when tapped. Not good. I decided to use children's play sand as filler to mass-damp it. Rather than just pouring the sand into the pillar, I used an old pair of my wife's winter tights (thicker than nylon) to prevent the sand from leaking out. Just push them inside the post and fill them from the top with sand using a funnel and tie off the top securely with a couple of cable ties. I used a total of about 15lbs of sand in each post. This worked really well in totally deadening the ringing. The 4 pads supplied for each top plate to place the speakers on are wholly inadequate for the purpose IMO so those were dumped and replaced with a set of Hudson Hifi 1" silicone isolation dots which provide vastly superior isolation and are naturally non-slip so hold the speaker much more securely. The sound improved enormously with them under my Cambridge Audio speakers - HIGHLY recommended and cheap too (set of 16 at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0857161Q1).The spikes fit okay but you need to use a metric size 10 wrench to tighten the lock nuts in order to prevent them from rocking. Be sure to take your time to get them level - it can take a while but it's worth it for a secure base. The supplied feet covers were thrown away immediately since, although they cover the spikes, they possess next to no isolation properties. I added a set of cups underneath the spikes (amazon.com/gp/product/B07KVWPWX5) together with the remaining Hudson dots superglued to their base to further isolate the stand and to stop the spikes from slipping on my tile floor. With all of that done, the stand was utterly stable and was vibration inert. The sound of my system improved out of all recognition with amazingly solid bass and great imaging. Job done. So, in summary, these stands are well worth the money. The glass base and glossy black painted metal looks great. Most importantly, they perform really well and provide a super-sturdy base once suitably modified. Highly recommended.

I bought these and had them together in a matter of minutes. The glass bottom is very nice as are the finish on the upright columns and the speaker platform. It comes with spiked feet and rubber tips to cover the spikes if using on floors that might get damaged by the spikes. The wires are hidden in the columns and come our the base of the columns, not through the very bottom of the stands. I'm using them for a pair Polk S15 speakers that fit almost perfectly. The speaker platform is oh so slightly larger than the speaker itself, so you could easily go with a larger speaker. They seem really stable, but I have them in an area of the room with very little traffic, so I really dont have much concern of them getting knocked over. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.
Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018
I purchased two set's of these stands and paid more than I wanted too and I'm happy I did. I needed them for my home theater front and surround speakers. The Glass bases are heavier than I thought they would be and they look elegant and very stylish. The columns are also a heavier grade of steel than I was expecting and they are simple but look good enough. It would be cool if the columns could come in a fluted design. I also think the port holes in the columns for speaker cables could be finished to remove the burrs or some type of rubber grommet installed. I've read reviews about using sand or cat litter to fill the tube for added weight and stability and I was thinking of picking up a couple of long narrow stuff sacks _ the kind used for tent poles _ and fill them with sand making it easy to add weight and keep things clean.

Make sure your speakers will actually FIT, or at least balance, on the 7"x7" top piece. One slight problem with the stands, at least the ones I got, is that the bolt in the middle of the top piece won't screw down to the point of flush. In fact, it sticks up higher than the 4 bumper pads they supply to use on the corners. I had to replace those with thicker bumper pads. But the main caveat here -- I won't call it a problem, but do be aware -- is that if your speakers are heavy, these stands will be tipsy, despite the substantial base. You may need to actually screw them into the floor, or place a heavier larger separate base underneath. Finally, you'll probably want to affix your speakers somehow; otherwise it's too easy to knock them off. I used ratcheting straps, and they work well. Appearance wise, the stands are fine. Good finish, etc. That bottom piece is actually glass, and it looks nice.
Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2021
Classy looking and solid speaker stands. Super sturdy. Can hold very heavy speakers if need be. Easily supports the 20 lbs in speakers, angle wedges and speaker wire I have on each of them. Base is heavy and solid and the paint and glass look really nice and are easily dusted and wiped down to keep shine and clean looks. I was initially grimacing about the cost spent on them. The longer I have them and see how well and easily they support my rear speakers and rear height speakers the more I like them and the cost feels like money well spent. If these came in 26 or 28 inch I'd buy them for my mid surround speakers.

The 32” trans deco speaker stands are well made with a heavy glass base, and glossy speaker plate and leg. Very easy assembly comes with a an Allen wrench and multiple parts in a well labeled bag and clear instructions, I find that they are pretty stable but if it’s a concern you can fill the leg to add some heft, if your going that route I would recommend that you fill a couple pantyhose with either the gravel or litter to keep it contained. There is a a hole in the top and bottom of the the stand to route your speaker cable through, these are great if your looking for a decently priced well made stand, the 32” inch height puts any small bookshelf speaker at the perfect listening position. By these you won’t be disappointed
