The quality seems good. It looks fairly nice (darkish gray). Feels like it will last a long time.
I took one star off due for the "noise factor". When I move my feet around on it, it creeks...pretty loudly sometimes. It's caused by shifting of the stand's moveable base part which can be inserted in two places, one to raise it up higher than the other. I'm going to try inserting a little cloth or something inside the mounting holes to see if that will help. Maybe a little WD40 would do the trick as well. If anyone's found a cure for this, please feel free to comment. The noise can be annoying.
Otherwise, this seems to be a very good product for the price. Recommended.
UPDATE: Duct tape to the rescue! I was able to eliminate the creaking and squeaking noises by wrapping a couple of strips of duct tape around the adjustable "leg inserts". The duct tape added some additional circumference for a very snug fit. The adjustment bar will likely not come out again easily (or possibly at all) but that's okay because the height is perfect and now it's completely silent.
Bought the Kensington SoleMassager Exercising Footrest (K56155US), because it was the closest visual match to a Kensington footrest which gave me years of comfort before it finally broke. Bad idea. This product sems designed to fight whatever you try to get it to do --even something as sinple as getting the teeter-board to a comfortable position. After a couple of days with this camouflaged instrument of torture, the small of my back was in agony and my feet were completely numb. Once I recovered, I took the pieces of *old* Kensington footrest (which looks like a grey teeter-totter between two curved black legs; apparently it's no longer in production) back together with sturdy orange NASA spin-off space glue, and have been tolerably well ever since. Avoid this product as though it were a mad chiropractor! Kensington SoleMassager Exercising Footrest, K56155US
