Product Description
Enjoy healthy, home-cooked meals even with a busy schedule thanks to this easy-to-use round-shaped slow cooker. With its 1-1/2-quart capacity, the unit works great for cooking up small batches of soup, casseroles, warm dips, sauces, and more. Simply add ingredients to its stoneware crock, insert the crock into the cooker, and turn the temperature-control dial from off to keep warm, low, or high. Even more, the removable crock doubles as a serving dish and can go straight from the table to the refrigerator to store leftovers with quick convenience. Integrated handles on the crock make it easy to lift and carry, even when wearing oven mitts, while stay-cool side handles on the cooker ensure safe, comfortable transport from home to picnics or potlucks and back again. The slow cooker measures approximately 8 by 8 by 9 inches, and the removable crock and glass lid clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.

I really like how this slow cooker has more than just one temperature setting it has three, high and low settings, as well as one to keep the food warm for an extended time period.
It is extremely easy to use, and great for when you want to get your meal started early in the day, and have it ready for dinner time. It's perfect for a small pot roast, some bbq ribs, or a few pieces of chicken. It is also great for making a few servings of soup. It would probably be perfect for keeping appetizers warm at a party as well, but I haven't tried that yet.
As with any slow cooker, you want to put the food in here already heated up, since they are by nature designed to only produce a small amount of heat, just enough to keep the food hot enough to cook. If you put cold food in, it will take a very long time before it comes up to temperature, and actually starts to cook.
I also like how this slow cooker has a glass lid, too many of them made today have cheap thin plastic lids. You can wash the lid in the dishwasher, as well as the crock itself, which makes cleanup extremely easy. The heating body of the cooker looks like it is pretty well made, and should last a long time.
I bought this slow cooker over two years ago, and it is still working fine. I hope to get many many more years of life out of it.
The first meal cooked was potatoes, mixed veggies and a very large thick chicken breast. I seasoned with spices, added a cup of chicken broth and in about 8 hours (low setting) I had a yummy, pat your tummy meal with left overs.
2nd meal was 1 cup of pinto beans, with wild rice. I added bacon bits, spices, water to cover by about 3 inches and 10 hours later (low setting) there was a delightful comfort food meal that left me happy and satisfied, along with left overs for a couple of days.
The crock pot is big enough for an abundance of veggies (the more the better) and a thick cut pork chop (my recent Sunday meal) or chicken breast. My next test is going to be a small pork or beef roast with baby potatoes, carrots and onions. We'll see how that works.
I even purchased a couple of slow cooker cook books and have found several recipes that I'm going to try and that includes a few delectable desserts. Can you tell I'm having fun with this purchase? LOL...
I LOVE the fact that it has a warm, low and high setting. The top allows moisture to drip back into the crock pot, so there is no run over and the crock pot itself does not get overly hot during the cooking process. Veggies stay crispy & firm and meat comes out fork tender and melt in your mouth good. Plus, it is very easy to clean and store.
So far there are no cons...
An absolutely purrfect purchase with one very happy consumer!!
I was worried at first when it came because it's not quite 1.5 quarts and they say "leave an inch space," so I thought "wow, that's not much room." But if I'm not cooking on high, I can fill it a little higher than that for many recipes, and it still gives me three servings of lunch food or side dishes for a nice grilled chicken breast. That's plenty for even two more enthusiastic eaters. I haven't tried a soup in it yet, but since soup is something even the worst slow cookers do well and this is a great slow cooker, I'm not at all worried about that.
This is perfect for single people or older couples or a single parent and a little kid. For single folks, it's dinner while you work or shop and leftovers to freeze or to have for lunch next day.
For people who want to make steel-cut oats overnight, the easiest way to do it is save your empty cans, wash them well inside and out, and put the oats, fruit, sweetener, and water into a clean can. Put two inches or so of water into the crock, insert the can into the water (so it's in a bath), and leave it on low all night. Perfect morning oatmeal, and if you eat it on the go, you can toss the can away when you're done. The same approach would work for hot morning cereal of wheat berries or pearled barley, I imagine. Rolled oats, quinoa, and bulgur, probably less likely to work--they're a little too soft to respond well to eight hours of cooking.
I've found that with most slow-coooker recipes on line and in cookbooks, I can divide by 1/3 and that works well for this size crock.
I couldn't be happier. A cool way to bake bread, even in summer, a way to make really inexpensive beans that I control the level of salt or additives in, and set-it-and-forget-it cooking, and all at a reasonable price!
