Before buying this, check with TVFool or AntennaWeb on what channels you are likely to get. We live right outside a major metro area, so we were able to pick up all our local stations (CBS, FOX, NBC, ABC, PBS, and a few weird ones), but if you live in solitude, don't expect to get everything. The Antenna worked fine for us, picked up almost every channel those websites said we could. We had some issues on channels dropping out if you stood right in front of it, or when a train went by, but nothing terrible. After we canceled our cable service, and they finally came and shut it down, I tested plugging the cable back in just for the hell of it, and amazingly we were able to get the same channels as the antenna got, only clearer. We ended up returning these because of that, so I would recommend you give that a test first, and if it doesn't work, this antenna did it's job fine, too.

Be careful adjusting the rabbit ears! One broke at the bottom after adjusting it to get the best reception for about 45 minutes. Having said that, even with one dipole it works ok. Only buy this if you live in a metro area within 10 miles or so of the towers. If your towers are in different directions you will have to pick your favorite and aim it that way. Go to antenna dot org or the fcc website or tvfool to see where your towers are, how many channels you are likely to get, and what antenna will work best for you. I live in the middle of Indianapolis. All I want is the major networks and the CW. I first placed it in my living room. It picked up ABC, NBC, FOX, and the CW easily, as well as other stuff I won't watch. BUT I watch CBS the most and spent over an hour trying to pick it ip with no luck. So I bought a Mohu Leaf and thought I would try it in the basement just to see what I could get. We just have a PS3 down there and use that for Netflix, etc so any OTA TV would be a bonus. To my surprise, on the first try it picked up everything I wanted with no effort or adjusting whatsoever. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and the CW. Nothing else, at all, but I don't want anything else. Indianapolis offers way more OTA channels than these five and I could not pick those up reliably in either location - no PBS, WNDY, Ion, etc. If you want as many channels as possible this is not for you, if you just want something cheap and very basic - and you live in a good location - it may work for you. I should receive the Mohu Leaf 30 today, hopefully that will get me the five channels I want.

Okay, so I decided to get an indoor antenna since I had the Wii U and it would provide programming. I'm in the middle of Toronto, surrounded and the tv is in the ground floor, not near windows. The antenna was going behind the tv, between the tv and the wall. Obviously I wasn't expecting much, so I looked for something relatively inexpensive.

I initially looked at the "August" brand but read that their connectors where for UK (and judging by the box cover that seemed to be correct). A good connection to the tv is an absolute must for reception. So .. I got the RCA antenna.

I was very happy with the package when I received it. Nicely packaged, short readable instructions, and this antenna has a real nice solid feel to it. Really, it has some heft.

When I first plugged it in, major disappointment. Nothing worked - no channels; but then I turned on the tv setup and realized I had to tell it I was on antenna, not cable. Eureka. I had 9!! channels. Now some of these seem to be duplicates unfortunately, but if you are in Toronto you are almost guaranteed high quality (I realized it was digital now but the quality surprised me!) channels for CTV, Global, Omni, CBC, and TVO.

This is without the antenna extended at all, and no attempt to set the antenna up. The antenna is near ground level, between wall and tv, so not a lot of area to receive, yet it does a great job. Maybe I'll do better with some tweaking.

For those interested in an indoor antenna I highly recommend you check your reception at tvfool.com, which seemed to be accurate.

Does what its supposed to do but sadly not very well. Only managed to get one channel in London and the only reason for that is the transmitter is literally only three blocks away. Even given the distance between my place and the transmitter the picture is prone to frequent pixelation and outright signal drops. The dial does nothing to help get other available channels or improve the quality of the one channel I get, nor does moving the antenna around. I've placed it infront of the window, behind the tv, moved the rabbit ears around and still get a poor signal. Overall its not the best antenna you could get even if your fortunate enough to live in a city like Toronto or like in my case, close to the source of the DTV signals.
