I wanted a non-leather soft brief case (canvas or synthetic material)in which I could carry my work stuff both to & from work/home and on a plane for business travel. So it has to be organizable, capable of carrying a lot and comfortable to lug around. And also secure to not loose things. I don't use this bag for tools but rather for papers, small lap top, computer stuff, phone charger & other personal stuff.

Although I would have prefered a canvas material, I couldn't find a big enough one so I purchased this brand. Turns out, I like it a lot & I would definately buy another if & when this one wears out -which near as I can tell won't be in the near future -seems like it will last.

The briefcase is large enough to hold lap top with accessories, multiple job files, and tools. I like it, although I have some comments that could make the bag better.

Comments:
1. It would be nice if they added a zipper to the compartment under the front flap that would completely close it. The zipper now is only on the sides and this compartment is open for rain and dust to get in. This is probably the compartment I use the most for tools and files based on its configuration.

2. The strap is not adjustable, so you either live with the length or find another strap. The length works fine for me, but it would be nice to have an adjustable strap

3. The color is the color. No choices. This bag surely stands out in or out of a crowd. I've been using it in the field on heavy civil construction sites and in client meetings. I get comments on the bag 5 out of 10 times from people who have not previously seen me with it. Definitely catches the eye.

I bought a Bucket Boss Contractors Briefcase years ago at Home Depot for my son in law who had a used car business. Prior to this he had used expensive leather briefcases. However once he used the Bucket Boss Briefcase he sold all of his fancy leather ones at a yard sale. When the that one finally wore out after many years of service he went looking for another and couldn't find one - Home Depot no longer carried them - I found exactly what he needed on Amazon. That was three years ago and he is totally delighted with it just as he was the first. He said not only was it the sturdiest bag he ever had but it gave him a briefcase as well as a tool box to boot. He says it totally blows away everything else he has ever used.

I purchased a new contractor's briefcase in January 2012 to replace the one I purchased back in 1999, which had finally started to show wear in the stitching. I was extremely happy with my previous briefcase; it lasted longer than I expected. Already, my new one has seams splitting in THREE places! I had to replace the strap with the one from my previous briefcase because it immediately started fraying. I doubt I will use my new one for more than a few months -- it just seems cheap and unreliable.

With a "quality" product such as this I expected there would be some sort of replacement guarantee. In fact, Bucket Boss has almost no internet presence, and only a toll-free number. Calling the number allows you to leave a message, which is never answered (it has been a month since I called).

Considering Bucket Boss' former quality, I'm very disappointed.

This is an OK briefcase. But the one you receive after ordering it may NOT be the model depicted. The model represented on Amazon is the 'Bucket Boss 06092 EA01 Pro Contractors Briefcase' with the clear map pocket. The model I received was the 'Bucket Boss Classic 06092 (no EA01) Pro Contractors Briefcase' which isn't as nice -- it doesn't include the map pocket. After waiting weeks for delivery -- NOT satisfied.

I got this as a gift to replace a hard side brief case that was falling apart. It is deceivingly large. 7 pockets plus places to carry pens, calculator, and miscellaneous. Large padded center area to carry a 17" laptop. you can even get a small change of clothes in one pocket. if you need to. For a brief case it lacks some in design, I would like to see a better design for storage, for files, paper calculator, pens, ruler, and other things most contractors carry. This is still better than most of the laptop cases out there. It is very well built as are other Bucket Boss products.

My husband is really enjoying the new briefcase. he had an old one he wouldn't give up. When it sat it down on the floor it would collapse like a bean bag filled with water.
Now with the new case, there is a pocket for everything. He doesn't carry a laptop so the center padded laptop holds his valuable things.
My husband runs a business very well, but organized he is not. However I am amazed at how organized he is keeping this bag or how organized the bag is keeping him. I'm not sure which but it is loaded and stands up straight and tall where ever he leaves it and that is much easier to take than his old one.

My office at a well known Cellular Network office, we all have laptops that we carry to and from work daily. I bought this back in March. Nobody has one that looks like this. Never any question about whose this belongs to. It is strong, well made, roomy, and has pockets and slots for just about everything from an emergency flashlight, extra cell phone, UMTS hot spot, cables, power supply, mouse, extra (small) keyboard, mouse pad. All of it. Really glad I got this model.
