Excellent resource with a collection of essays from major critics to examine the evolving genre of the novel as a unique narrative form.

I was hoping to get some help writing novels. Been a writer all my life and not as successful as I wanted to be. So I thought this book might help. Used to read articles by Philip Stevick back in the day and thought he was brilliant and intelligible. Well guess what. This book is so far a giant snore. I've waded through this swamp of turgid prose for about 200 pages and have not found anything helpful yet. I do not recommend it.

Read this text. I found this book to be well organized and clear. A excellent source for authors own words on many text and the novel.
