No shoe strings, only adjustable bungee lacing straps (see pics) Thick and stretchy elastic band around the ankle for a sock like fit Overall, the sneakers are very form fitting to the feet for a secure fit (perfect fit for a true size 6 so these run slightly smaller!) Lightweight *These were very well loved and have adjusted to my (wide) feet over time but they are still in fair condition.
