Is the pickup feature reliable is soft mud just off the pond bank?

How much does the product weigh?  How long on its retracted state?

Works great - gets those balls that others can't reach.

No problem

Well built and easy to use. It is the same length as a regular club so I don't have to worry about it getting stuck down in the bag.

Great Product

Exactly what I wanted and needed.

Unfortunately, I had to use the ball retriever … since my ball decided to take a swim in a pond.  BUT with the retriever fully extended I got my ball back.  My old retriever would have been too short and would have been too wobbly fully extended.  Really like the new one.

Hoping to Avoid Water

It is the longest ball retriever I have owned
The only minor problem is that when you fully extend it, it bends and resembles a fishing pole but it reaches balls far away

Golf ball retriever

This thing is super long, fits in my bag, and Des a great job snagging balls.  Works as well if not better than the "Gottcha" . It does tend to hold water be mindful when you put it back in your bag.  I use umbrella holder if available.

Good value

First used this yesterday. First hole, used it to retrieve a ball from water. Only needed to extend the first section, got the ball but I couldn't get it to retract. Try as I might I couldn't loosen it. So I walked the course, all 18 holes, with this thing poking out of my bag like a CB whip antenna slapping me in the back of the head every step of the way. Back at the clubhouse, the pro who though it was funny, tried without luck to loosen the knurl. Finally we resorted to two pliers to get it to collapse so the I could get it into my car for the ride home. 
I can't say more than it's hard to imagine it's a fluke that it failed on the first use. I blame shoddy components or workmanship. In either case I am returning it.
