Can you use the one pound propane bottles with the portable stove burner?

It's decent. The regulator is definitely non-US standard; I had to remove it and replace it with a US standard LP regulator. Additionally, the host connector is a non-US standard tool, so I had to make some adjustments with a few add-ons (costing a couple of dollars). Despite these modifications, it now works excellently, and the heat is strong. We can now enjoy backyard cooking. I wanted to share this information with readers to make it easier for others to get it working without going through the same process. By the way, the igniter is a bit challenging to light up, but it's not a big deal—I just use a handheld lighter.

The Alpha Portable Propane Range is a thoughtfully designed and functional stove. Connecting it to a propane tank was a breeze, and it ignited promptly, just as described in previous reviews. The flame intensity is impressive, especially for wok or skillet cooking. It took some time to get used to the low heat setting, and simmering small pots of soup might not be its strong suit. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a no-fuss solution that gets the job done quickly, this is the ideal choice.

Better than I Hoped it Would Be

The product arrived as advertised and within the expected timeframe. It appears sufficiently sturdy for its intended purpose. Both the burners and the ignitor function well. Priced at $32, it offers excellent value for the money. In comparison to our previous unit, we've noticed that the pegs in the inner burner are slightly too short, causing the frying pan to nearly touch the burner nozzles. To activate the ignitor, we need to press and hold the knob for a few seconds before clicking it. This is done to ensure enough gas flows to the ignitor tube outlet. In contrast, our old unit ignited the burners instantly (though it was more expensive).

Excellent value for the price

The product itself is solid and well-made. However, I am somewhat dissatisfied with the hose and regulator. The regular hose clamps it comes with are not ideal, and the tank connection doesn't fit the new 25lb tanks. It requires the small "tit or male pin" to push the gas valve in when tightening. Therefore, if you purchase the stove, be prepared to also buy a new hose and regulator.

Alpha Portable Propane Stove

This burner functions well, and I've given it a rating of 4. The only issue I've encountered is that the igniter flame tends to be blown too far from the actual burner. This results in a larger flame around the burner and a somewhat loud noise, similar to the sound produced when one burner on a four-burner gas stove is accidentally lit by the flame of an adjacent burner, creating a BOOOOF sound. On the positive side, the knob offers a very smooth range of adjustment, making it easy to control the flame. It works effectively and has substantial firepower, capable of melting lead in a large pot. I recommend it to anyone in need of significant heat output; just exercise caution with items like towels that can quickly catch fire.

Good value for money

Product works as advertised. However, the packaging could be improved. Upon receipt, I noticed that the main input connection for gas burners was not protected or capped. After preparing the product as per the written instructions, I noted that only the inside burner was lit. Upon further examination, I physically took the unit apart and found pieces of packing material lodged in the inlet to the outside burner. After removing the obstruction, the unit operated as advertised.

Cooking with Gas

I'm really happy with this burner. It worked perfectly right out of the box, and I didn't even have to adjust the air intakes to get the flame right. It's exactly as advertised, and I have no complaints whatsoever. The only thing I might do is replace the fuel line at some point in the future, since it seems a little cheap. I like the idea of a quick couple hose like on air tools. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and it's going to work great for my wok. Stay safe!

I purchased this specifically for "wok" cooking. Everything functions excellently, and it's easy to assemble.

Indoor stir-frying can lead to unwanted smells and grime. Opt for a better solution by setting up a small table outside with one of these burners. Add a grilling grate on top, and you'll have an improvised grill ready in 2 minutes, perfect for cooking for two people.
