I really wanted to give this fountain a 5 star, but can't. This is a beautiful fountain and very well made, but as hard as I've tried, I can't get it to wear it won't splash when you first turn it on in the am. It only splashes a little for maybe 30 seconds, but none the less it does. I have worked very hard with this fountain to overcome all issues but the splash.  The trickling of the water  is louder than the pump, but I had to work at it.  It took some work to get the pump to sit so the line wasn't kinked and the water flow was really heavy.  It is also important to have the pump completely under water to cut down the noise of the pump. Over all I really like this fountain and would buy it   It is well worth working with it to get it where you like it, rather than returning it.  I really love the appearance and the heaviness of the fountain.  I have it in my bathroom and I hear the water trickling down the slate every time I walk by the bathroom.  They give you plenty of river rocks to cover around the base of the fountain.  Love it, love it, love it.
