Temperature

I recently purchased this model direct from Z Grills. It was easy to assemble (about 45 minutes). I did the initial burn in as per the instructions. So far, I have cooked chicken, ribs and pulled pork. All have turned out better than I would have expected.
I used to have an electric smoker but missed the ability to sear food after smoking. This does it all. Keep in mind, this runs hotter than a smoker because of the flame so less time is needed.
You Tube has hundreds of videos on how to use a pellet grill and recipes and cooking times. Buy this, you'll love it!

Love this grill!

I smoked a Boston Butt with excellent results.  I smoked it at 250 degrees for 8+ hours waiting for a internal temperature of 185.  The temperature held within +/- 15 degrees.  

The heat is supplied by wood pellets so the temperature will fluctuate as the pellets are added and burn.  The ability to hold the temperature this closely over a wood fire with indirect heat is excellent.  

I also grilled some burgers.  I set the temperature at 375 and smoked the burgers for 10 minutes on each side.  Even though the temperature was set at 375, the actual temperature was closer to 425.   This is OK since a high temperature is desired for burgers to cook correctly.  

When smoking at a low temperature for a long time be sure the pellet hopper is full.  After 5-6 hours check the pellet supply to be sure there is an ample supply of pellets over the auger.  Moving the pellets over the auger feed point takes only a minute and will ensure that the auger won't run out of fuel.  

For easy cleanup line the drip pan with aluminum foil.  I also found that lining the bottom of the smoker (below the drip pan) with foil helps with cleanup.  Even though most of the drippings are collected by the drip pan, some splatter is missed (especially with burgers at a high temperature).  

I also vacuum out any remaining ash from the fire pot (after it cools) to be sure no ash blows up on the next item I'm smoking.  

Overall I'm very pleased with my Z Grills pellet smoker.  The more you use it the more comfortable you will get using it.  If the pellets fed the auger better without having to rearrange after 5-6 hours of smoking, it would be truly a set and forget.

Love it! Everything we've cooked on it tastes GREAT! Easy operation. Get a meat thermometer. Pay attention to the outside of the package when you get it, someone dropped mine and dented the pellet hopper.

Great grill, This is my first pellet grill and I love it . I smoked ribs last week and it was almost to easy. I had a traditional smoker grill for years and it finally got beyond repair. I have been looking at a new grill for months and this one came on sale with a cover.The only thing I didnt like about it , is there are no instructions on the settings. Like what temperature to cook certain meats . Besides that a great grill

Great Pelleg Grill

Temperature runs higher than setting but could be the hot temperature outside. Cooks great and am very pleased with the smoker.

Good looking grill.

This grill is  great grill. You can taste the difference. However, how Walmart ships it is unacceptable. When I first got mine I had a dent in the main body. I also didn't get any screws to fix the wheels. So now my grill is there without any wheels. Please, do not buy this grill from Walmart.

Great grill but don't get it from Walmart.

I give it 3 stars, it does hold the temperature.  the reason i purchased it so I can smoke a brisket. I tried the competition, it wasn't enough smoke so I switched to the hickory and still nothing after smoking for hours the meat tasted like nothing. I wish I can get my money back.
