Once I finally got the right cover it is great, and the customer service team was great on addressing the problem with getting the wrong cover in the right box and sending out a new correct one.

Well Made

I received my order in great time. Packaging was ample and the fit was perfect. I used it to smoke a brisket overnight for Thanksgiving while the outside temperature was in the low 40's. It kept the temperature steady and actually cooked quicker than I expected. It wasn't a problem being it gave the brisket longer to rest as I was already on a tight timeline. Very happy with it so far.

Solid smoker!

In Minnesota, grilling can be challenging in the winter. The relative ease of using a pellet grill and typical slow cooks made me think it would be much better than other methods that require an almost constant presence. I had not counted on the fact that in a windy sub-freezing environment the grill couldn't always keep up with the heat loss. After attempting a pizza with less than stellar results a few weeks ago because I couldn't keep the pellet grill hot enough, I bought the thermal blanket. What a difference! Of course, it should also help with pellet consumption.

Worked great!

I love this smoker. I did buy the cover and thermal cover to go with the smoker. I had gotten the blind box. It came as the 6000 series. We now use it almost everyday. My kids and husband like to cook on this instead of a transitional grill.

Zgrill, cover and thermal cover

Excellent. Easy to install and saw about 30 degrees warmer during smoke setting. Outside temperature was about 40F. 
Without blanket: smoke setting was topping out at 130F
With blanket: smoke setting was holding about 160F. 
The blanket is not needed for hotter settings. This grill holds good temperature at 225 and above regardless of temperature outside.

Thermal Blanket for 1000D series

The set it and forget it aspect makes this the most appealing part of smoking meat. It is also great for grilling but does take more time to get it going rather than a propane grill. It also does not get hot enough to sear the meat, but the flavor and tenderness of a slow grill time makes up for it. I would definitely say that Z Grill gives its higher priced competitors a run for their money and at a lower price.

Great smoker at a great price

I have to get used to the fact that the temperature setting, and the temperature inside the grill will be different. I think the difference is as much as 25°. Other than that the zig grill is perfect.

Ze grill temperature

Item works as expected but had to replace a temperature probe that failed while smoking an expensive brisket. Called and covered under warranty but took almost 3 weeks to get the part and had to tear the smoker apart and work on a smoker that was only 6 months old. Wasn't very happy.
2nd wish would be that it had a hopper clean out port. This model does not.
