Is their a smaller burner available? It's difficult to keep temperature below 200 degrees.

I highly recommend this smoker. We are going on our 6th year with the 18”. Salmon to Boston butt, beer can chicken to mac & cheese there hasn't been anything bad come out of this smoker (except when I fell asleep on a late night cook which was operator error). Extremely fuel efficient I have done 3 separate cooks at 6-10 hours each on one tank. The first 3 years of this smoker lived outside only covered by the Camp Chef cover. There is zero rust. I live in NC which had high humidity and It has seen a lot of rain and some snow. The cover is still holding up but is on its last leg as it's sun bleached and starting to get rips in it. Well worth the money for the cover. One recommendation I have is don't smoke Thanksgiving turkeys, hams, or bbq unless you plan on doing it at every family function from now on because it produces amazing food which I don't mind one bit. It is also pretty portable to load in the truck and take on vacations or to a friends house for a cookout.

I received this smoker as a Christmas gift probably 4-5 years ago and use it often. This smoker has been through a lot! Getting blown over several times in our back yard wind tunnel, left uncovered several times and rained on, cover blew off during a wicked winter storm and left for days buried half way up with snow and it still keeps on producing delicious meat! The only thing we've replaced was the cover in all these years. It still fires right up and seems to just sip on propane, a 20lb bottle seems to last us well over a year and we use it probably 5-10 times a season. Cant say any bad about this smoker.

Great smoker/great value

I have owned this for almost 2 years now. I have never had a bad meal while using it. I have smoked just about every kind of meat on it and it comes out tasting better than my favorite barbecue restaurant.  I converted mine to natural gas so the convenience of not getting propane tanks. You can literally set this smoker and forget about it. You will only need to add water to the water pan in about 3-4 hours.

Great Smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received a Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24 as a gift on fathers day a few years ago. I truly love this smoker. I've done a few things to my smoker to tighten up the Smoke leaking from the smoke,like I added a food grade,non-flammable felt seal tape to around the door and sealed up areas around the Smoke with a food safe liquid gasket sealer. My next thing is to come up with a way to get the vents(3) to close more or shut off completely to be able to refine the heat temperature better.  Any ideas from Camp Chef  on the vents would be greatly appreciated.

I received this as a corporate gift (great company!) and have used it several times with fantastic results - pork butts, brisket, oysters, pork belly. I never used a smoker until I got the Smoke Vault 18" and found it really easy to set up and use.

The Smoke Vault 18 was easy to assemble. Parts were easy to identify.

Instructions did a great job of walking me through all the way to smoking my first piece of meat.

This was my first time smoking anything and the pork loin came out great using a recipe from the website. Next I did ribs and they came out great. Beer can chicken got great reviews as well.

The unit holds temperature very well, it is not a gas hog and fairly easy to clean considering whats going on inside there.

The unit is all of what Camp Chef says it is. A very nice unit for beginners.

I will definitely buy another Camp Chef product.

Great value

Looks good, has a good sized water tray. I've had some trouble keeping the temperature where I want it, but having it sitting in the direct hot Arizona sun with winds going up and down probably hasn't helped. I have smoked chicken thighs, pork ribs, and a top round roast that came out amazing.

Satisfied Overall

I just smoked ribs for the first time on mine. They were spectacular. 6th smoke since I bought it. The door handle cannbe wonky but overall it's a great buy.

Great small backyard smoker

I have had mine about a year. Easy to assemble and easy to use. Grest for smoking deer and I made the best turkey I have ever cooked.(including frying one) Only issue was the thermometer. It was off by several degrees.  Had to get a dual thermometer. Once I figured out how to adjust the controls, it does a great job.

great if you don't mind putting in chips yourself, would like better heat control though, it's not easy to set temperature until you get the hang of it

When we tried to set it up the first time, the regulator wouldn't line up correctly and we went back and forth with customer service for 3 weeks before they agreed to send a new one. Worked great twice after that then wouldn't go above 150 degrees the third time even after resetting the regulator 5 times and checking everything else (water, gas, etc.). Waste of money.
