It does have a regulator. My brother and I used to make maple syrup and sell it when we were kids in Upstate NY. I think it would work for boiling off most of the water from the sap. You could finish it off on a kitchen stove.

I know nothing about making syrup, but it does have a valve for regulating the flame. It is one of the best features of the cooker.

The short answer is yes, it does. The long answer:
I bought this item for making sugar candy for my honey bees to feed on during the winter months, since I took most of their honey away from them. (standard practice in virtually all the world)

I start by boiling 1/2 gal. of water and 6 TBS. of vinegar, then adding the sugar (25 lbs.) in 5 lb increments, stirring all the while. The flame is adjustable, and turned on high, the water was boiling almost before I got the sack of sugar opened. I use a 20 quart stainless steel pot. Then, I turned the flame down while adding the sugar. After all the sugar was added, I turned up the heat and in no time at all, the candy was done. No muss, no fuss...no mess to clean up, the kitchen stove is clean, etc, etc.

Caution...outdoor use only, use pot wide enough to cover burner...mine is in the neighborhood of 12 inches across. The unit is very strong, possibly could handle a very large pot...I have a 33 quart canner that I'm going to try next.

It does have an adjustment, it is not very "fine" but you can definitely adjust from full blast to light boil and a few spots in between pretty easily.

Does this fryer have a regulator for the heat on it?

All parts were included and it is ready to use. I had it shipped to to the store and when I picked it up I purchased the propane tank. (You need a propane tank and it does not come with the cooker).

I bought mine to cook fish outdoor and I leave the propane tank outside under the cover of my charcoal grill and place the cooker in my garage. I fear that it rains it may affect the burner. I have been trying to get a cover that I could use much like the cover for my grill.

It is great for picnics and camping and is easy to put in the trunk of a sedan.

Yes all you have to do is asemble the legs and attached the LP tank. And you should be ready to start cooking!

Everything but the propane bottle is included. And normal 20# propane bottle works just fine.

Everything is included except for the cylinder. I'd not leave it outside, because it will get rusted easily.

I Love the Wind Shield around the Flame! Was much Taller than I expected which was a Wonderful Feature....Bought this to do all my Canning outside....Regulator is easy to control, Great Product, Purchasing another one to give as a GIFT!!!

The King Kooker is exactly what I was looking for. This works great for cast iron, woks and tall pots. The only downside for me was that there wasn't a bag to store the unassembled pieces.

Great for outdoor cooking

Very rugged grill. Plenty of heat output. The only improvement l would recommend is to make the regulator control with low, med, and high cardinal points on the dial. I had to get on my knees to see the flame while adjusting it. However, this is a small price to pay for the more than adequate heat output. On a 35 degree day, it took about 20 minutes to boil 6 gallons of water on a med-high flame in a 32 quart SS pot.

Seems plenty sturdy. I have only put it together but have not used it yet.
A burner is going to burn so no question there. 
My unit will be used on the side when in cook offs. Have had 3 or 4 different ones in the past and I do not expect any issues from this one.

King Kooker

I was surprised that it arrived to the store (at no cost) way ahead of schedule. It was very easy to assemble and heats 15 gallons very quickly. I bought it specifically for home brewing but I'm sure I'll be using it for other outdoor cooking. Great product, great price.

Just what I needed

Handles low country boils with ease, and the height makes it easy to use by putting the big pots closer to the cook.  The only down side (and its not really a bad thing), is I wish the wind-break panels could be locked in a bit so they didn't come off every time we moved it.

Just what we needed!

I bought this unit to replace a much older, well used unit that I had and it works well. I really like the wind guard because that helps keep a steady flame when cooking outside.

I saw on the box that it said "Not for frying turkeys" but I couldn't find an answer online about this restriction, so I called the company. Turns out, the only difference between this unit and the and the actual turkey frying unit is that this version doesn't have the timer protection on the gauge that prevents the user from overheating the oil.

I feel like the specifications should state this upfront so the consumer can make a more informed decision about which unit to buy.

Good outdoor cooker

This is a very good cooker , but the legs were uneven in length from the weld joints.  I did return it and exchanged for the table top model.

Great item

This item is a very nice piece of equipment. It is clearly labeled "Not for frying turkeys" and I have not been able to determine the reason for that. That said, I did not purchase it with the intent to fry turkeys, so I anticipate that it will do what I wish to do with it.
