Bought this for a daybed, even though it is a full sized futon mattress. It worked great just pulled up the back. Now looks more like a couch. Stays in place without slipping. My 3 year old Granddaughter loves it!! I figured if we have older guests we can just pull the mattress out and it will sleep two.
It is the 8 inches and did not smell like some others have posted. However, do be careful when unrolling just make sure you have plenty of room.

Best purchase ever!!!

We purchased for our RV. Fit perfectly in the space we needed it to. Gave us the best sleep for sure. We had looked high and low at bed / furniture stores and every time we asked for a futon they looked at us weird. For the money, not being able to see or touch before purchase, ease of picking up at the store, arriving before scheduled = worth every penny and then some. Hubby has a bad back and needs firm mattress, and this should last him for a while.

Perfect for RV

I bought this to replace a regular 6" futon mattress for my futon couch, which we occasionally sleep on. This 8" mattress is the real thing. Very comfortable to sleep on, soft on top but supportive. Folding back up into the couch position requires pushing it in a bit, but comfortable there too.

Very comfortable

Came quick , comfy , no holes , a little heavy 40 pounds , but yea you'll love it . No complaints over here .

Good mattress

Okay,  there is only one thing I don't like about this mattress.  The mattress is black and the zipper and stitches thru the mattress are white.  No big deal because I am using it as a mattress and it will have a cover and fitted sheet on it.  The package arrived with in a few days.  The delivery person brought it in the house for us.  We read the directions and it was very easy to open and was up to the promised 8 inches with in a couple hours.  It fits the futon perfectly and is very comfortable.  There was no noticeable odor and we were able to use it right away.  Very happy with this purchase.

Exactly what I was looking for

I like the mattress. It's firm yet comfy. It has the tufting but you don't feel it. However they used white to tuft it with. In my case. Black would have been better. I ordered a queen and it filled my futon nicely. It came in a box and it was wrapped in plastic. When we rolled it out, it seemed like it started expanding right away. Having said that. We have had it for aprox two weeks and it is only about 5" thick. It is made very nicely and it came with a zipper so I can wash it! There were no awful odors like I read from other reviews on their futon mattresses. We are pleased with it. For the price it is an excellent buy. :)

Serta 8" spring comfort mattress

I needed a mattress for the Futon frame I had. I am 5'11'' and weigh 230lbs. After trying a six-inch mattress I opted to try the eight-inch product and if this did not work out may have just bought a fold-away sleeper couch. I saw the advertising for the spring construction and did not think to highly of it. When the mattress was finally delivered I allowed it to rest openly on the floor as instructed and when the night came to sleep on it I lay down and noticed immediately the support the springs gave to my body. It was comfortable. I have a neck-injury and some bad knees that usually wake me up for the pain and/or discomfort during the night. I must say that I slept all the way through the night which was uncommon for me to do. I am really enjoying this mattress and would suggest it to anyone whom I knew was in the market to purchase one. I was totally surprised at the durability, the construction, the spring support, and the mattresses ability to allow me to sleep through the night. Maybe it can be less cost for fixed income customers, but other than the price it is an excellent mattress and I am very happy with it. Try it if you need a mattress for your futon. I expect 96% of you that do buy will also give this mattress above-average grade.

Totally Surprised at its construction

Fiber pad helps cushion the springs but I can still feel them. It's comfortable enough to sit and sleep on except for you can still feel the springs. It has goon support and probably won't go flat but for overweight people...be reasonable. For some reason it smells like hay bales...maybe the cotton filling, but it doesn't bother me. Nice upgrade to my old futon frame. Be sure to but a good mattress on a good futon frame . An expensive mattress won't fix your cheap 99$ walmart futon. Start with a quality frame.

Decent mattress

I read reviews before I buy so hopefully this will help someone else trying to decide. Sturdy construction. Dense but somewhat springy too. I'm using this as my main sleeping futon. Being on a working class budget limited my choices but very pleased. More importantly, made in America. We have to support each other.
