no it is not made to chop meat that is a ridiculous expectation.

You can chop meat but it has to be cooked first. I dont know why the other person to comment said its a bad idea. It says it is just fine in the instruction manual but the meat has to be COOKED first.

NO! inside the owners manual there is a note that explains that meats need to be fully cooked and cut into small chunks before they are put into the blender. it also explains that for best results there should ALWAYS be some sort of liquid added to the mix.

This is for things that use liquid and solids. You need a Cuisinart or a meat grinder.

I would not recommend to use this blender for &quot;chopping&quot; meat. Unless it cooked to well done, cut in small pieces &amp; &quot;use&quot;the pulse option and/or lowest speed setting. The meat will end up being &quot;minced&quot; not chopped. For instance, chicken could be &quot;minced&quot; for making chicken salad sandwiches. When mincing do it in small batches (one to two cups at a time) at pulse and/or the lowest speed, other wise the meat will turn into mush.

One customer complained that she culd not chop meat, and it was not very strong. Is this mixer made to cook chope meat up?

The Oster 14-speed all-metal-drive blender is fantastic!  I have had mine now for about a year, and I love it.  I am kind of a health nut and bodybuilder, and I use my blender at least five mornings a week to make protein shakes with lots of fresh and frozen fruit.  The blender makes everything smooth and has not bogged down even once.  Because I make a lot of product at a time for my breakfast, the 64-ounce jar is perfect.

Loved mine.  Couple months ago my kids opened a cabinet and the glass blender top bounced out and broke.  Now I have base and lid but no glass blender top. Help how can i get a replacement top.

I bought this blender 5 yrs ago and it was not until now that the glass jar broke down with the bottom part and I'm trying to find that parts but I haven't had no luck is there any way I can get the parts or know which glass jar is compatible?

Great blender

My grandma bought this for me when I moved into my first apartment, I have used it for about 5 years now mostly for smoothies and haven't had any problems. It does a great job with liquid... not a great job on dry goods.

Standard Blender

I really wanted to like this blender I like how big it is, however, it burnt out and died completely after around a year? haven't had it long.. 
I do recall having to shake or stir in order to aid it in blending things that defeats the purpose of having a good blender lol.

I wanted to like this blender but it died.

Only used it once, I kept having to take the lid off and stir my smoothie myself,  I'm returning it and getting a hamilton beach

Doesn't mix

I have a 25 year old WHITE Oster blender, works great.   Wanted a larger capacity jar, so I bought this NEW BLACK Oster 14 speed blender.    Used it ONLY to make smoothies,  not even grinding ice!   Motor Sparked and massive smoke.

FAILED IN ONE MONTH   :(

I bought this blender at the suggestion of a client. They said it was great for smoothies. Apparently that is all they make. For me this blender wasn't useful. Ice crushing? nope. Not until I took out all the ice and added two cubes at a time. Milkshake making? Nope. Not unless you like ice cream soup from all the liquid I had to add just to make it spin. And Let's talk about the spinning, I had some water in the pitcher for three hours and no leaks. I emptied the water, added some fruit and veggies and liquid to make a smoothie, ran it, blended it, turned it off, lifted the pitcher and the bottom FELL OFF. I enjoyed slurping the smoothie off the counter. This item is now gone the way of the Dodo bird. I will be buying a new blender, not an Oster.

I don't know what blender you all are using

I bought this blender on 04/23 and was very happy at first. But the 4th time using it , it started to have smoke coming out , I unplugged it let cool down cause was getting hot. I made sure the jar is placed correctly and started it again until it stopped working at all. I am disappointed with this product,  and of course I tossed the receipt.

Burned after 4th use!
