No, this coffee maker does not use cone filters. I actually had a reusable basket filter I purchased before that I use with it and it works great.

You can purchase a permanent filter is you choose.

You can fill from top -- or lift it out and set on the counter to fill.

Basket fills from the top. The water dispenser arm swings over the coffee basket but is easy to move out of the way.

Lid flips up on hinges on the left side. Basket doesn't swing out, but it's easy to insert filter and add coffee.

The basket does not swing out to the side. The lid opens on the top to one side and you can remove a filter basket to wash or dispose of your used filter.

Basket is accessed from the top. Pretty nice, the water dispenser has a spout that you slide to the side so you can remove the basket (you will need filter or a permenant basket filter). When you shut the lid, that spout will automatically move over to the area over the basket. Hope this helps and sorry it took a couple of months to answer.

Does the basket SWING OUT or does it fill from the top??

Probably 5 minutes but it does have a "sneek a cup" feature.

Easy to setup and to make coffee. Use it at least once a day, sometimes more, and the coffee comes out great. Easy to program. I have had other Mr. Coffee units and I love them.

This has got to be the best coffee maker ever!
With the settings for "strong" and "regular" brews of coffee, you can always get the perfect cup.
I even like the "beep" feature which lets you know when the java is finished brewing.
The price is great too.

Ummm...Coffee...

Been using this for a couple of weeks now.  I really like the fact you can either brew normal or strong coffee with a click of a button.  Using this feature I brew a pot that taste normal but use less coffee, that means the coffee maker will pay for itself.  Another feature is the delay brew, my previous Mr. Coffee's had this feature too.  There is nothing like waking up to a cup of hot coffee every morning.  There is a clean setting, but have not tried it as the maker is still new and will find out in a couple of weeks how that works.

THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT PURCHASE FOR THE MONEY !!!

When our old coffee pot finally died, I opted to purchase the exact same model because we liked the other one so much. I would highly recommend running at least one pot of 50/50 white vinegar/water mix through followed by 2-3 pots of plain water. This is because of the plastic taste that comes with brand new coffee pots. That is the only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars.

Also, to keep your coffee maker lasting longer, do the same cleaning cycle as mentioned above at least once every month or every other month depending on how hard your water is. We have fairly hard water so I clean it once a month.

Second one because I liked the first so much!

Good price and meets my needs...I love programmable as I never half to worry about having left the coffee maker on when I leave the house (it turns itself off after a specified period of time). Also comes in handy to have coffee ready when I wake up in the morning.
