[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG SL10YG is a high end soundbar that replaces the need for a traditional surround speaker setup and provides a wonderful home theater experience.
Ever since I got an LG OLED last year, I have been wanting to add a surround sound system with Dolby Atmos/ DTS:X to complete the ultimate home viewing experience. Dolby atmos adds two upwards firing speakers that bounce sound off the ceiling and then down towards the viewing area to add a vertical channel. The DTS:X adds an object-based surround sound that expresses spatial location of where objects should be heard. Playing around with demos of atmos and DTS:X content really helps you hear the difference and better understand how they work to create a better viewing experience. 
Set up is a breeze- you use the google home app on your phone and set it up like any other chromecast/google home. It will even install system updates this way. The subwoofer seems to have good range, as I have it across the room behind the couch and it has no issues staying connected and in sync. 
The sound is truly impressive. Results will vary on how well the virtual rear channels sound, as it relies on the shape/size of your room and the speaker placement for how well sound will bounce. There is an optional wireless rear speaker kit to make this a 7.1.2 system for a modest cost.
The connectivity options are great- you can use optical (cable supplied), HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, and WIFI. If using an LG TV, LG SoundSync links the TV and soundbar so that you can just use the TV remote to control volume. The HDMI ports passthrough 4K/HDR content from devices plugged directly into the soundbar onto the TV. For devices plugged into the TV, the HDMI ARC port receives the audio signals. This part can be tricky, as you can only use this set up if you are certain your TV will pass on the dolby atmos/DTS:X signal. If not, you need to have your devices plugged directly into the soundbar and have the soundbar forward the video to the TV. The built in chromecast ability is nice- I find myself listening to music in the living room a lot now that I can quickly cast it directly from my phone
Overall, this is an amazing soundbar that for me replaces the need for wiring a traditional speaker system around my old living room- which either means extensive fishing of wires through walls or unaesthetically pleasing exposed wiring.

Amazing 5.1.2 sound without the hassle

Honestly, having this sound system I may never go to a movie theater again because I have the movie theater system at home!!

Overall, this soundbar produces a high quality immersive cinematic experience at the comfort of one's home. I love how easy it is to setup, install, and use the google assistant for anything I need with my voice. The subwoofer and soundbar plays lows and highs very well and has wide dynamic range. The music, movies, and dialogues sound crispy clear and very powerful. Dolby atmos provides a unique experience paired up with 4k TV. The overall design of the bar is great. I love this brand new LG product. The rear speakers are not required unless you have a very large room, even then can be argued. The 550w true RMS power output of the speakers is more than enough and provides a very strong rumble. 
This product fits very well alongside any 55”+ TV and is not heavy like other sound bars. The wifi capability is a plus. A very unique and powerful system for a true lifelike experience.

Hello new sound system!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG SL 10Y Sound bar gives off the most amazing sound! I love how when you're watching a movie you can hear the Dolby Atmos. It makes the object in the movie movie sound like it's actually there in the room with you. I also love how it is Wireless Surround Sound Ready and has Bluetooth Connectivity. It's also great that it has Google Assistant built in. With the Meridian Audio's advanced technology LG provides a premier sound with this Sound bar and pairing this Sound bar with my LG OLED E9PUA 65 inch tv I couldn't be happier!! Who needs the theater when I have the best tv and Sound bar ever!!

Best Sound Ever!

I wanted this soundbar because it was going in a large open living space. Our kitchen, living room, and dining room are just one giant room, so this system had a lot of space to fill. I was amazed at how well it does fill the space, the music doesn't have to be blaring at the wall to be heard at the other end of the room, it seems to perfect aim the sound everywhere at once. I didn't have it on long without the sub, so I can't speak to how it sounds sans sub. I can say that it is absolutely a must have! Whether its a movie or music, this system delivers. The craftsmanship is great as well. Everything looks good enough that you dont mind people seeing it, and there is zero enclosure rattle. You know you're handling solid hardware when you pick it up.
There is no need to overdue it, my volume for the soundbar sits just below half of the potential and trust me it's still plenty loud. I'm happy with the purchase now I'm just waiting for my LG TV to pair with it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

As a person who has owned a discrete and dedicated 5.1 Surround system with a high end Receiver I have never trusted a soundbar, until I gave LG SL10YG a try and a good testing of its capabilities. First of all, the industrial design of this LG soundbar is superb. The manufacturer chose great materials to envelope its 5.1.2 speakers. Its slick design and speaker position allows it to sit next to your TV or can be mounted on the wall horizontally. You can also purchase an additional set of rear speakers that will add so much more to the sound stage and make your system shine with a total of 7.1.2 speakers. It was really easy to set up the SL10YG and get it pump beautiful music: its wireless subwoofer connects automatically and can be placed anywhere in your room. The soundbar has two HDMI in and 1 HDMI out and support for ARC (audio return channel). I found ARC feature to be very useful and works instantaneously with our LG OLED C9 TV. Normal TV programming where dialogue is more prominent really surprised me as it comes out clean and crisp. I also used some 4K Blurays with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X and I was very pleased how this soundbar handled sound processing and put me right in the middle of the action. The bass was pretty impressive and can be also adjusted manually. LG has created a companion app called LG WiFi Speaker which I would also recommend as it has a ton of values that can be changed easily on your phone. LG also supplied a remote control that is has a dedicated Google Assistant button. Yes, this soundbar has Google resources at your hands and you can control your Smart Home devices, ask it to play music or help you with any task you need information about. Excellent Sound Stage and Experience with LG Sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG SL10YG is the soundbar for anyone looking to complete their home theater setup! The quality of this system was instantly noticeable upon setting it up. It did take some initial settings changes to sync the audio but that was easily done in a matter of a couple minutes. Since I was most interested in the Dolby Atmos feature, the first thing I had to do was to pop in a 4K Atmos capable movie. I could easily notice the difference in the surround capability of this soundbar compared to my previous setup leaving me pleasantly surprised. I did add the optional rear speakers and they really complete the system but this system also does really well without if you aren't looking to add to it. My son absolutely loves playing with the features of the built in Google Assistant; especially being able to ask it to tell him a joke! The Bluetooth feature for streaming music from my phone works flawlessly with no noticeable sound quality loss. LG has done a great job with this product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a soundbar type setup to complete their home theater!

Perfect Home Theater Solution!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will admit, I'm usually the first amongst my friends and family to buy the latest, newest, coolest gadgets out there.  I'm always showing off my new phone, smart device, electronics, etc.  However, it has taken me this long to invest in a proper sound bar.  Up until now, I've always used my TV speakers or a surround sound system.  I must say, the LG Soundbar is absolutely mindblowing.  This thing is HUGE (practically the length of my mantle), and it has the sound to justify the size.  Such a breeze to install, and the sound is incredible.  With Dolby Atmos technology, I feel like I'm in the middle of the movie.  The subwoofer has breathtaking bass, and the sound is completely immersive.  I couldn't wait to show it off to all my friends, and they can't believe we don't have a full surround sound system installed.  I'll never go back.  I'm 100% happy with my purchase, and LG never disappoints.  I'll definitely stick with my new soundbar until its time to upgrade to the next LG soundbar! Update 7/3/19: I mounted my soundbar on the middle of the fireplace mantle using the mounting brackets because I no longer have space for it above the mantle.  It sounds AMAZING.

Perfect Theater Sound in your Home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plenty of bass from the subwoofer.  Great virtual Atmos/DTS-X effect for a sound bar.  I added the LG SPK8 rear speakers kit and the surround effect is much better and more realistic.  I like its low profile, matching well with my LG 75SM9070 nanocell TV and does not block the TV remote control sensor.  The sound bar has 2 HDMI input and 1 HDMI output with ARC but for a top of the line 2019 model, I wish it has eARC.  It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS-X and various preset sound effect (Standard, Movies, Music, Bass Blast) modes. I highly recommend adding the rear speakers kits. For the high suggested retail price, I wish it included the rear speakers since the rear speakers really enhanced the surround sound effect.  I had encountered the same issue numerous times where no sound will come thru the sound bar unless I had to unplug the power cord to reset it and I haven't able to figure out what the cause.  Another issue is the center speaker dialog sometime got drown out by other sound/music during a movie.  Hopefully, LG can fix this with an firmware update.  Overall, I really like this sound bar.  Great sound with mininal space requirement and simple setup vs a full out audio system and speakers.  I was chosen to receive this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great Sound Bar

I purchased this sound bar a few months ago and the audio cuts in and out, and the subwoofer cuts out intermittently. The sound is awesome when it works, but this is a very frustrating thing to deal with. I've tried moving the subwoofer around and still no dice!
