Sangean has a good name in radio devices similar to Grundig already.   Crane is a third player in the field.  All will generally deliver good reception.
The package here is reasonable as to weight and size.   If smaller, the speaker would be weak and tinny.   Controls are easy to access and tuning is good.   Weather alerts come on when the device is off if the feature is selected, but there is also an advisory or alert light that is on when those do not require the interruption.    A yellow advisory light can tell you that a lesser alarm might be heard if you selected the Weather band.    You can select the Weather band from the 7 native band positions and one can enter foreign Countries if the device is used there for the applicable frequencies of those sites.   FM and AM settings are allowed with digital tuning and Presets are available in a good number.   If the device is positioned flat on the table, the small LCD display of maybe 3 x 1" is tilted for viewing, though the radio can be positioned vertically and the LCD will remain visible without the need either way to be overhead to read it.     The device will go through batteries quickly if not plugged in, but the device has its own transformer and the batteries then function only as a backup if the power is out.   Two alarms can be set on the far right of the unit or left off, each individually controlled. 
The only feature lacking is some voice-control feedback similar to Alexa or Siri and I am not a fan of that so much anyway.
