i went to the lg website and inquired about pre-purchase product info. they emailed me the owners manual pdf which tells how to do everything with this dvd player-lg bp145

This is a basic, does everything I will ever need DVD Blue ray.

My TV already has wifi and with Chromecast wifi dvd is just overkill.

Works like a charm

I love that this player upscales regular dvds, records cds to mp3 players through the usb port, and the walmart price made me buy it. I went to the lg website and inquired about pre-purchase product info for the lg bp145 blu-ray player. Within 24hrs, they emailed me the owners manual pdf which tells everything this player can and can't do. I am happy with the product and the price.

Great blu-ray player and more

I bought this at my local walmart store. It is simple and quick. It doesn't stream which you really shouldn't depend on a dvd player to do that. I say that because I bought a blue ray dvd player that also streams 2 years ago and it recently broke. It cost more than twice as much as this dvd player. For 48 dollars this is great. I can't seem to find any faults in it yet.

Bough this one during thanksgiving. The picture and sound quality is great, it upscales the quality of dvd and low resolution videos and pics. Easy settings and adjustment, very low learning curve, easy to set up and sleek looking beauty.

Cant ask more for such a great price.

Excellent Blu Ray / DVD player

This is an awesome DVD and i recomend it. Im just wondering what happened when i conected the HDMI cable to the tv. As soon as i conected and turn onnthe dvd, the remote control of the tv stoped working. Now i have to mess with the tv buttons to be able to watch a movie. The remote is useless and acts weird. I just want to know what happened. Other than that the LG blue ray player is awesome.

I found this at my local for $35 - not sure why it's more online but maybe i had a black friday left over?

i actually have a LG BP135 as well(paid the same price last year for it) and it uses the same remote, which itself is pretty basic and physically small but functionally excellent.

It doesn't do 3D but it does put out great video, very fast to start a DVD but slower to view Blu-ray's, and i'm not sure if it does up-sampling but to me the DVD looked better on screen, and my Blu-ray movies looked good.

The video output is HDMI only and it does have a wall wart type plug transformer so it'll take up a few of those spaces on your power bar.

Good value, and the previous model has held up just fine so i think that this will do so as well.

Great value, fast and compact

I had to return my first one b/c after one use it wouldnt play any type of dvd. Now the 2nd one is doing the exact same thing. Pretty pathetic. LG has their service number right on the top of this player. They were no help. They said my player is defective when I called. How did I get 2 defective products?!

i'd rate it a zero if i could

Blu-ray discs are often not recognized when put into the player. The player will continually spit them back out. You have to put the disc in and push play a few seconds after the door closes, and hope that the disc recognized, so that it will play. DVD's work fine, I've had no issue with them.

Often does not recognize Blu-ray discs

Just delivered.... Delivered in it's original mfg box but not in a packing box w/packing materials. Out of box was checked and no apparent cosmetic damage but does nothing else but spin. We tried it all! Even tried to upload/update software through mfg. Mfg help is 0 on the weekends! Nothing worked...so back to Wal-Mart we go. Btw, there is no info online, not even w/mfg regarding assistance for this problem., no recommendations. Brand new back it goes...to bad..

D.O.A

I was so excited I bought this item on Black Thursday, I waited for it, fought the crowds and waited in line, only to find this blue ray player first of all does not have wifi,. I thought oh well my other devices stream online. then after buying a brand new hdmi cord, it will not communicate with the TV. I tried 2 different cords and both places on the TV, the one just had another device in it and worked fine but nothing with this blue ray player. I called and they want me to send it back and they will "repair it" ..., NOPE it is brand new and I have never been able to use it. I am taking it back. What a waste!
