For 3mbps internet, it is unnecessary to get a high-end router. Please consider a mid-range router instead.

I need a powerful router to stream video/game in large house, however is this router overkill for lousy 3mbps internet provider?

This will require a interment connection.

So how/where does this device get it's basic "signal"? In other words do I need to subscribe to 4G LTE service or?????

THEY SUCK !!

This was intended to be a replacement for my previous ASUS router purchased 6 years ago.  I chose the same brand since I had a positive experience with my prior device.  The "ASUS" logo on the back of the router never illuminated after pressing the power button and the replacement shipped to me had the same issue.   Support was not helpful because they could not understand what the problem is much less come up with a solution.  I returned both devices and I'm using my old router until I can find a suitable product.
