These are great speaker wires. Forget the fact they don't cost an arm and a leg. I had been using some fairly expensive "brand name" speaker cables and thought I would try these when I noticed them on sale. I switched the cables and hear absolutely no difference between these the much more expensive ones. Highly recommended for those who care about quality sound and not bragging rights. 

The aluminium cable heads were loose and needed to be screwed on tight, but that was the only issue I have found with them.

In the FAQ section, someone mentions that the wire is Copper Clad Aluminum. The package says the wires are "100% Pure Bare Copper." I have not taken the cables apart to confirm this.

Can't Beat 'em

Monoprice

These are nice speakers cables to have around.  No they're not esoteric, nor do most people need that kind of cable.  The banana plugs are well made and fit snug into most 5-way binding posts on the back of speakers.  The cables are braided and seem well-made enough for everyday use.  After all, once speaker cables are in place, it's not like they are moved around a lot!  I've been using them in most of my AV systems throughout the house.

Great Speakers Cables

Absolutely love affinity cables.  Fits like a glove.  Satisfies most hi-fi speaker built in banana terminals.  Purchased 7 of them.  Don't waste hundreds of dollars on high end cables.  Recommended speaker cables you can't ignore, especially they feel luxurious and deliver top notch sound quality.

Absolutely love affinity cables

I have really enjoyed these over the last 2 months.  They are solidly built and look very high end.  The bananas are a snug fit which I like, don't have to worry about them coming loose without some effort.
Only drawback is the red/black sleeve seems to come loose a little too easily.  Not a big deal, but I have connected and unconnected them 8-10 times and have had to re-tightened the sleeve 3-4 times already.  Might have to try some thread-locker, since I never intend to have to take them apart.
I would recommend these and have enjoyed them.

Much nicer than the picture

These were very nice quality. I'm not sure why, but I assumed the Black & Red caps were already screwed on, so I knew which end was which. Wasn't hard to put them on, but if someone was not paying attention, it could have been switched around. Once I put the caps on though, these worked great and feel very solid. I would get another set again, but I feel it should be noted about the end caps being loose.

Not sure if this is an option, but if there was a way to label them, I would have paid extra for that as well, but straight out the gate, these are fantastic speaker wires.

Great speakers wires

I ordered a bunch of these for a project. Overall, a good deal at the price point. 

Once notable exception. 

The quality of these speaker wires have gone down a bit. I ordered a bunch pre-pandemic and the quality (literally the braided cable itself) had a higher quality feel to it. 

These feel a little cheaper. More then likely a back-end provider change. For the price and the "current" quality, I would buy these again. Just wish the cable jackets were a little better and that the cables (L/R) were binded together a little better.

Review of Braided Speaker Wire with Banana Plug

These are nice looking plugs and work well, but when I pulled them out of the back of my receiver to move it last week, at least one plug on each pair had the springy gold part come off in the receiver (I had to get needle nose pliers to get that part out) and one had the whole gold part come off. Not sure what the deal was with that. I've never had problems with Monoprice wires before. They are sending me new ones and we'll see if they are any better (I sure hope so!). I only had them in the receiver about two months before removing them.

Works well...unless you need to unplug them.

I was disappointed in these cables. Three of the banana plugs came apart the 1st time I plugged them and unplugged them. I purchased 4 sets of these. The tips pull away from the underlying pin connector. I have used many monoprice pieces and have never had a problem until now. Come on Monoprice you can do better than this. I will be trying other cables from monoprice. I just got a bad set this time.

Poor quality workmanship

I buy from Monoprice all the time and have come to associate them with great products and prices but these cable are crap!

As I was taking them out of the package they literally fell apart. They also are 2 separate cables clipped together every few feet. That could be in the description and I missed it but that wasn't what I expected.

I returned them. Very disappointing, far below Monoprice standards. I'd give the zero stars if that was an option

These are horrible. Fell apart during unboxing..

I am an audio engineer, and I needed some inexpensive cables for my home audio lab.   I thought these would work nicely since I needed some banana-to-banana connectors for my lab equipment.   While these cables look good from the outside and have decent quality banana connectors, the wire itself is very stiff...not what you expect from good quality stranded wire.   I opened up the cable to look at the wire.  What I saw was a stiff plastic substrate with what looked like steel wire.  Hard to tell what this stuff is, it could be plated copper, but seemed too stiff for copper   This is nothing I would ever use for audio.  I don't trust the build quality and the wire type.  I would purchase the bananas if they sold these separately.  I am sending these back.
