Is this this the price for one speaker,or a pair?... PYLE PDWR50W

You can run them directly from the marine stereo system and if you want more sound (louder) in the future can upgrade to an amp. I used them directly from a marine receiver no problem, though I did not like the sound as much as more expensive speakers. They were loud enough with just the deck driving them and I suspect would work well for most applications.

can i run these off a 12v boat marine stereo system or must it run off a home amplifier?

This is my 2nd time buying 2 more sets. They sound great!

Love it

I did a lot of research on the internet first and found some other speakers that looked better on paper, but in the end I decided to go with these as the price against the power provided was too good to resist. The bass handling is not as good as I would like (but as good as expected - it's not a sub after all!) but the power output and clarity are superb for the price, they really are.

The mounting brackets on the other hand are not very good, and it isn't the most attractive speaker in the world, but for the price you really can't go wrong!!

Great budget speakers

I recently blew my outdoor speakers listening to some Techno, which has serious lows & they just couldn't handle it for too long &, POP! They blew, 10 days after the factory warranty expired; of course. So, I decided on this purchase to get the extra protection, just in case & $7 is so worth it. So, I began my search b/c I can't live w/out my music when I sit outside on my patio. While scrolling through the HUGE selection, the name Pyle stuck out b/c I know Pyle is big in the Car Audio for their Subwoofers, so, deep, low Bass handling capabilities. So, I decided to go w/these & right off the bat, they sounded better & these speakers could handle the Bass for sure! For the money, these can't be beat. These 6.5's can handle the Techno, as well as, Heavy Metal or anything else I through at them. Just a note, like w/any speaker, know your specs & what they can handle from the receiver before blasting them. Even though I knew this, I still decided to risk it w/the old pair & I paid the price. I have already surpassed those levels with these Pyles & then some, thanks Pyle!

Wonderful Outdoor Speakers!

Never did figure out how to mount or install the speakers. They would just flop around on the supplied mounting bracket.

As for sound they were not great but acceptable. They lacked a full deep sound but even at higher volumes they did not distort. If you wanted radio in the yard they could deliver. If you wanted to recreate Woodstock in your garden you may want to adjust your budget.

Kinda cheap

We purchased these speakers and for the price very good quality. Happy with the sound and easy to mount!

Great sound

I purchased two sets of pyle speakers. First problem occurred when the sound went out on one of the speakers. Took speakers to nearest walmart where I was given a store credit. I immediately purchased another set of speakers and while installing said speakers the female end thats attached to the speaker that the screw screws into went into the actual speaker so now I can't mount the speaker.
