Mizuno Wave Sky are a great running shoe for half marathon training and races. Sizing is accurate and consistent every time.

My first time wearing the Wave Sky shoes they already felt broke in. The shoes feel so comfortable around my feet. Not too snug but just enough to hold my feet in place. The toe box provides plenty of room for my toes to flare out on each step. They also fit true to size. I was also pleased to see some extra padding around the back of my heel and the sock like feel around my foot. It may possibly be impossible to get a blister in these shoes. I decided to also try the shoes without socks on. They still fit like a glove. The premium sock liner inside the shoe feels amazing to my bare feet. Comfort wise I give this shoe a 9 out of 10.

Run tested, ultra marathoner approved

Being a 200+lb Tri athlete, marathoner, and breaking into the ultra distance, I am aware of the impact and volume I put on my joints through the concrete. This has led me to the SKY CLOUD and previously to brands like Hoka One One. I feel a distinct difference in joint stress with light comfort/stability based shoes. This is completely anecdotal, but after putting two week of miles in with the SKY CLOUD here are my observations. Pros - -I can't help but think your are getting your moneys-worth in product quality (from design, tongue/shoelace, midsole, to the amazing tread on the sole) -You feel rooted and stable while running (more so than Hoka One One Clifton 3s) -Takes the beating well if you plan on working multi-surfaces (tread design is great) Cons- -More substantial/heavy (some would say obviously) than the Cliftons and other comfort shoes Ive ran in. Overall- I would absolutely encourage anyone who is looking for an impressive comfort work-horse of a shoe for pounding the pavement. Mizuno did a great job with these.

Great shoe

This is my mileage shoe, a little firm on easy pacing but should get better when broke in more. Great at mid to fast pacing, very nice, it will help me with less ground contact in my mid to fast pacing

Might try a different line or newer modle time will tell.

Great Shoes

Very comfortable shoes. On my feet all day at work. Noticeable improved arch support compared to other shoes.

I used to run exclusively in Mizunos, especially the Wave Evo line. When that was discontinued, I've struggled to find Mizunos that had the same smoothness of the ride as the Evos. Everything I tried was just a bit too hard. I've run in several generations of the Rider (good shoe, for sure), Sayonara, Hitogami and a few others. They just didn't hit the right mix for me. I got the Wave Sky from Mizuno to evaluate for my blog, and I was skeptical as soon as I took them out of the box. I wore them around the house, and thought they'd be as firm as the Riders, which isn't my style. I finally got them out on a run yesterday as I've been recovering from a sprained ankle. Let me just say, I stand SERIOUSLY corrected. I was blown away by the ride. The shoe is firm when you walk around (thanks to the Wave plate, I'm sure), but once you load them up with force while running, they just melt. Not since the Wave Evo Cursoris have I felt a Mizuno disappear like this. I'm a forefoot striker, and found them really easy to strike that way, which is usually tough in a firm shoe. I then tried mid foot striking, and they were a dream. I have to say, I expected to think they were fine but not for me. Now that I've run in them, I can say that they're way better than fine - they're actually an excellent shoe for mid distances (and I'd say they can probably handle a marathon really well, too), and would work well for pretty much any strike you run with. I wouldn't wear them in a 5K as I like a racing flat for that use, but anything over 5K and any training run, I'd definitely choose them. Great toe box, heel cup, tongue, good lacing and hold...just really happy with this shoe, and a total surprised. Such a good reminder that you can't judge a running shoe by walking around in it.

Really surprised by the great ride

I am and always be a Waverider man. At 63 I am still cranking out twenty-five or more miles a week. Over six feet tall an 220 pounds l'm large solid frame with a size 12.5 foot. That said, I've started loosing the padding on the sole of my feet and when the Wavesky came out I decided to give them a try. I have not been the least bit disappointed. I've switched to my Wavesky for the long slow Saturday runs. They did require a longer run in phase, but now on my second pair they are now only second to the Waverider in form, fit, and function in forty plus years of endurance running

Another great Mizuno Shoe

I bought this pair of shoe to use when I am at home. I usually run about six miles a week. The cushioning is very good and it gives you a very snug fit. It is a bit to flexible for me but because I mainly run on paved surfaces it is fine.

First I want to say the quality of the shoe seems top notch. I have owned and tried many different running shoes and these seem to be a great product. Thats why im giving them 2 stars instead of zero. These are the only running shoes I have had (so far) that give me blisters on the ball of my feet. Starts happening around 3 miles. I have tried all the lacing combinations, wearing multiple socks, wearing specialty socks, powders, you name it. These shoes give me hot foot and blisters. I am a bigger guy ( 6' 4", 235, size 14 shoe) so maybe average size or smaller runners don't have this issue.

BLISTERS!!! $150.00 down the drain.
