Excellent desktop speakers for my work from home computer system. The sound quality is very good for music. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for video conference calls and the self-powered amp helps with volume control. Very clean sound. Easy to set up and the bluetooth capability is great for playing music off your phone. The speaker stands are a must if you plan on setting up on your desk. I highly recommend them both.

The HD4s are my third purchase form Audioengine. I previously purchased HD3 speakers and a H6 speaker. Here’s what you get with Audioengune products: Great packaging, quality construction, easy set-up and use, and most importantly great sound. I wish they were made in the US but 5 out of 6 wants is not bad. I am very happy with my purchases and would recommend Audioengine products to anyone wanting high-quality speakers.

I placed these speakers fairly wide apart on stands above my monitor. I am surprised by the width of the soundstage they cast. Very satisfying listening.

They don't sound bad, but I have to power cycle them about 75% of the time to get the USB connected to my computer. This is the second set with this problem. I sent the first back and thought these were okay for a while. I would not buy again.

They don't sound bad, but

USB connection randomly stops working, only way to get it to work again is to unplug/replug the USB connection or "reboot" the speakers. I love the way these speakers sound but I'm constantly frustrated by the USB connection, it's a daily occurrence. I reached out to support a while back and they didn't have a solution other than to use the analog audio connection which is complete BS, I bought them 100% entirely so I could use USB. I'm still so mad about that I'm writing this review months later.

If you plan to use these with a MacBook and USB... look elsewhere.
