While most mobile devices use the 3.5mm stereo headphone output, most home audio systems with an amplifier or receiver use RCA jacks for audio inputs. This cable is ideal for adapting the output of your mp3 player or phone to stereo RCA plugs for connecting to your home audio system. The cable is made of heavy-duty coaxial cable for each conductor. The conductors are 22AWG and each conductor is shield to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. I use this on the preamp outputs of my headphone DAC/AMP to connect my powered speakers. Converts from RCA to 3.5mm and works exactly as intended. Construction is good and the cable is nice and flexible.

Too legit for the money

A must buy if in need of this type cable.Connectors are snug tight when inserted in device, professionally built thick cable is unmatched regardless of price. Good job monoprice.

Very High Quality

Non-crappy versions of this particular type of cable seem to be rare. Happy to report that this seems like a pretty rugged cable. It gets used on stage so it needs durability!

Well made little cable.

I purchased this Monoprice cable along with another of the same cable made by Seismic audio. The Monoprice cable won out by a large margin, with the Seismic branded one emitting horrible staticy feedback. This is currently being used in an mx51s stereo mixer and it couldn't be anymore perfect.

Seriously just buy this one because most of the other available ones online are junk

too easy to push male 3.5 stereo  past proper contact points tried several headphones and cords...otherwise, great quality

3.5 mm socket too deep

Bought 3 of these adapters in one batch, all 3 have the same issue.  Turns out, the right (red) RCA connector is mapped to the tip position of the 3.5mm jack, and the left (white) RCA connector is mapped to the ring position.  This has the effect of reversing the stereo soundstage, which is a mind-mess during movie/tv viewing.

I solved my issue by swapping the RCA connections at my audio source, but if the cables had been built to standard convention for TRS phone plugs/jacks, there would be no need for troubleshooting and a work-around.

Aside from that, it's a solidly built adapter, doesn't produce noise, and makes a reliable connection.  Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase, left/right color assignments notwithstanding.

Watch Out For Left-Right Channel Glitch

The 3.5mm connection is not grounded properly, and causes buzzing in my speakers when I use it. I swapped this out with a previous version of the same cable I bought from monoprice, and that fixed the issue. The quality on this seems to have gone downhill.
