The set is made entirely of Bamboo. I was concerned with the durability of this set but after I received it I was impressed with which it is put together. The hardware is tight and the bamboo precision cut and the parts open smoothly. No wobble of chairs and table was noticed!  One thing to be aware of is even though the table was sold with the umbrella a lot of effort was made in plugging up the umbrella hole.  4 screws, an extra nail and apparent glue had been used to hold the plug in place. All unnecessary in my opinion. After this was removed it works fine.
